Overall the kit is very good. The only negative is the moulds are starting to show their age. With more flash on the parts than normal. This is a good starting point for a North Sea Trawler but it is quite an old casting and lacks the detail needed to do a model proud but it is excellent value for your money i have bought 2 of them and will do some heavy mods to the second model to reflect an earlier 30s trawler.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

easy to build
this is an old kit and revell seem to be using the original moulds to produce it today. Having said that , once the parts have had the excess flash removed it does build into a nice model.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Although a bit old in the tooth this still is a good kit, and one well worth buying. It´s up to anyone what amount of modifications to apply. Though an old model now, it still is a ship in its own league.

Great kit for the money
A great kit to build, not an exact replica, but a scale representantation, some detailing can be added with a bit of careful modellers licensing, if you know your Grimsby cat class fleet, then this can easily be modelled on any 1 of the 12 trawlers, or can be made into a representation of hulls famous side trawler arctic corsair, bought 3 of these, 1 is Ross jackal, 1 is Ross tiger, and the other is arctic corsair, all in all once the flash is removed, and mold lines sanded, it is a straight forward paint and build, very satisfying to build and pleasing on the eye once care is taken n components when building, might just have to buy another 10 to complete the Ross collection, these could also be built as but trawlers,who bought Ross fleet out, hope this helps fellow modellersVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
