Half Scale Fairfield Kit
This half scale model kit is very easy to asslemble and versatile. The interior has several rooms, 3 per floor plus corridors and a wide open attic with plenty of space to create more, and all easily accessible through the 2 open walls: with the exception of the entrance in the first floor, this room stands behind the staircase so I'd recomend you finish this room first, but decorating it is no problem. It comes with 4 fireplaces which are part of a subassembly that creates a very study support for the whole structure, it is also great to hide electricity wires if you plan to electrify this house, which I did using roundwire and this structure is definitely great for that kind of system. The kit comes with roof shingles, basic doors and window trims and lovelly printed "glass" that looks great with any color scheme. Out of the box this kit comes with almost everything needed to make your house look pretty and professional, but will recomend a bit of sanding and work specially on the smaller components. They all fit together very nicelly and overall the structure is very sturdy after assembly. If you plan on using wallpapper it will require around 3 sheets per room, which can add up to a lot considering it has several walls to cover but the end result is worth it. The only thing I wasn't too happy about with the kit is that it lacks stairs for the top floor/attic, but this is a small design gripe for me. With a bit of work and modding the attic stairs can be added by copying the sub assembly that comes with the kit and making a small opening to the attic. Like I said before this kit is very customizable and leaves room for plenty modifications to suit your taste! I would definitely recomend this kit for anyone looking for a half scale dollhouse project, with a respectable number of rooms this house looks "big" for it's scale. You will be able to add a lot of detail and decorations to the interior, and looks lovelly illuminated! Be prepared to do a lot more work on the parts or replace the doors and windows if you want to build this house.
Some of the wood which the parts are cut on are too soft and when they are cut out of the wooden sheets, they can splinter and break or when I sandpaper them. I had to glue the pieces together or they can’t be used. The cut on the wood sheets are not good for some pieces and careful handling is needed when pushing them out or cutting them out.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

My little big house
Love the size and the look of the house. I'm still putting it together but some of the pieces will not connect right to others, or will not fit in the slots like it should. Easy access but time consuming.
This is my first house. While there are lots of components, the directions and online helps make it easy to build. Just be sure to get the hardware before starting. For the beginner, hinges and door knobs aren't included. Also, before starting check out upgrades you might like and get them ahead of time. Some things take quite a while to arrive. I've been building dollhouses for 23 years and this dollhouse kit was the 66th one I've built. I found that none of the pieces wanted to line up, the kit was missing the whole sheet of plastic windows and I rank this dollhouse kit in the top three of the worst I've ever built. Enjoying building it...
I'm enjoying once I got started, it scared me at first, looked complicated but it's not that bad... I just love that I can decorate 6 rooms plus large attic in a 1:24 scale house.... I don't have room for a bigger one as I already have a couple I built myself from plywood ..
