Good Watch, But Only at the Right Price
Overall this is a nice looking, understated watch. The illumination, which, admittedly, was one of the primary reasons that I bought this, is fantastic and manages to live up to every expectation that I had. I very much appreciate the aforementioned understated aesthetics of this watch, and I think that the red, signed crown is a nice touch.
That being said, there are a few things about this watch that left me feeling less than impressed--much of which, I will admit, comes down to personal taste. First and foremost, the strap that this watch comes with is far from stellar. I found it to be stiff, uncomfortable, and generally cheap feeling. Suspecting that this may be the case, I went ahead and ordered a replacement strap at the time of purchase. Additionally, this watch, in my opinion, lacks the heft of some of my other nicer quartz watches from brands like Citizen. Personally, I've grown accustomed to a certain weight on my wrist, and this is significantly less than what I have come to prefer.
In addition to my complaints, I will note that this watch wears a bit smaller than I had expected. I read several reviews before purchasing, and there seemed to be conflicting opinions as to weather this appeared large or small on the wrist. Personally, I think it looks a bit small. That being said, I have rather large wrists, so it's not hard for a watch to look small on me.
In summation, I'm very pleased with my purchase, but, at the end of the day, you're getting a Timex quality quartz watch. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just that I, personally, wouldn't spend more than $50-$60 on this watch. At that price point, however, you're getting a stylish watch that can easily be dressed up or down.
