  • A Bargain Spectrum Analyzer

This used analyzer came in excellent condition and worked properly right away. It covers the frequency range of 150kHz to 1 GHz although I didn't test it over the full range. The screen is brights and well focused and the settings appear to be accurate (center frequency, span). One feature that attracted me over, say, older HP analyzers was the ability to hook it up to your computer for both operation and retrieving screen shots. The software is available free on-line and worked first time (see computer screen shot below). The operation of this analyzer is simpler than HP or Tek's because they've built in automatic ranges so you can't ask for a sweep that's too fast for the band-width resolution. Seems to work well and saves time fiddling with settings that won't work although it has more limited settings as a result (e.g. only 4 BWR settings are provided). Mine came with tracking generator which also works and is essential for doing network analysis. In summary, if you're looking for a general purpose, easy to use spectrum analyzer this will probably do it for you at a good price.

  • Inexpensive Spectrum Analyzer

Excellent entry llevel spectrum analyzer. It does have limitations (read the downloadable manual). You can get computer software free, but it will only display limited but very useful information and has no control functions. You can save your trace and also print directly to your printer. The full blown software costs $210 plus shipping from Taiwan. This is extremely high for an obsolete piece of equipment. Also, the control software will NOT run on Windows 7 or 10 without using Vista compatibility mode and going through a lot of trial and error to make it run.

  • Keeping it simple

The device was shipped quick packed extra good. The device was clean and not one scratch or mark on it. Had it up and running in minutes with a easy to follow manual. This is a great simple spectrum analyzer, tracking generator I have ever used.

  • Good instrument, good price and very useful.

Great entry level/intermediate instrument. Performs very well. It has a multitude of functions. The tracking generator eliminates a lot of guess work when performing alignment RF devices.

  • GW Instek GSP-810 Spectrum analyzer

It's working good. Wish I could get 3 MHz per division on the span instead of just 2, at 15 MHz center frequency for amateur radio HF. It means I have to take 2 or 3 views instead one.
