A Star Starter.
I bought this on behalf of my neighbour, his car had a drain on the battery and he had paid several garages /experts to find the fault. I owned one previously for my own car which I used very rarely and small mileages, needless to say the battery would run down. It was brilliant !! . No worries about going into the garage and starting the car. worked perfectly until due to ill health my licence was revoked. I still use the charger on a small motor cycle battery to enable me to pump my invalid scooter tyres up. My neighbour is very pleased with the saving he has made by not calling out "specialists" . Good Charger.
Came back from an extended holiday to a flat car battery due to a modern cars continuous demand for power for the alarm system etc. This automatic trickle charger is just the just the job for leaving the car battery charging whilst away. Only variation was I used mine in conjunction with a timer so it was only on for 6 hours a day but I assume it is designed to be on continuously. Note this charger is not designed to charge a battery from dead flat.....only to maintain a charge. A normal more powerful charger needs to be used to get the battery back up to near or full charge first.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Simplicity at its best
I used this to fully recharge my car battery on the driveway from 11.1 volts up to 13.3 volts over 24 hours. I encased the charger inside a plastic box and weighed it down with a brick to keep it entirely waterproof. Though I kept checking for heat buildup this unit produces a very minimal and negligible amount of heat and as such could easily be kept inside the engine compartment if you want it kept dry. The red and green LED light is so bright, especially during darkness that I could see from an upstairs window when looking down that it was charging and then fully charged. I look forward to using this every month to supply a small top up to the battery. Intelligent little charger
I bought this charger to maintain the charge on the battery of a small backup generator. The unit can be left connected continuously as it governs the charge of the battery and indicates when charging and charged. I disconnect the unit when my generator is on load, however, as the generator has a battery charging system of it's own and I do not wish to test the resilience of the rectifier diodes in the charger!! Good budget trickle charger
Just what was needed. I have a bank of loose batteries that i maintain for my caravan, cars, motorcycles, but they vary in size & amperage so I didn't want to risk damaging my more expensive Oxford Oximizer motorcycle trickle charger on the bigger batteries. This charger does the job well. Only point of note is that the green light only comes on when nearly charged or fully charged - the other way around to most charger's I've owned before. Always full power
The green led light on when its not charging,and off when its charging, is the exact opposite of all the small capacity chargers I have previously used ( and blown up) and therefor took a bit of time to get use to. Good value for money product
The product does what it is designed for which is keep the battery toped up. It is a 1.5A trickle top up charger so it would take a very long time to charge a flat battery or a battery that is below 11v (if it could do it at all).
