A Red Ryder this is not...

Not only is this a very authentic replica of the real thing down to weight and feel, but its function is also amazing, firing in full auto the response I get from everyone who fires it is wow. You will go through your gas cartridges rapidly but then what do you expect when firing on full auto? I usually get about 3 magazines of bee bees per cartridge though the last magazine is losing some power by then. The handling or should I say the lack of. Poor pointability was a major flaw of the original and has been truly replicated by the Umarex M712. Shooting full auto in a long burst is a complete blast, but don’t expect to actually hit anything accurately. I don't think the M712 was ever intended to be a precision target pistol. All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase of the Umarex M712...

Nice wall hanger but thats about it...

CO2 Catridge starts leaking through the magazine valve as soon as it is punctured and before the magazine is even inserted into the pistol. And i am using Umerex CO2 cartridges... magazine is terrible to load. The follower barely pulls back far enough to get the bbs in and then it gets stuck open at an angle and won't follow. What a disappointment this purchase was. Looks great but guns that don't shoot aren't really very useful or interesting.

  • Construction Quality

The Mauser M712 is a fun pistol to shoot. However, I do have a problem with the quality of some of it’s construction. The single tiny allen screw through the receiver into the underside of the barrel shroud is totally insufficient to secure the barrel shroud to the receiver. In my case it became loose almost immediately. And, if you attempt to tighten this little screw you must be careful not to run it completely through the receiver into the barrel shroud. If that happens it allows the barrel shroud to dislodge from the gun. Also, the semi/full auto selector is somewhat sloppy. If these problems were remedied, this would be a terrific pistol to add to your airgun collection providing lots of great fun.

  • Fun, in Spurts...

This pistol is everything it's advertised to be. Very accurate reproduction of the original Mauser. Fun to shoot in both semi and full auto. The only complaint I have is how quickly it drains CO2. In full auto mode, I've never gotten more than 2 mags out of a CO2 canister. That can get expensive, quickly, not to mention it dampens the fun when you have to stop down and change the CO2 canister so often. Other than that, this pistol is a blast. Gun pun intended...

  • Full Auto Stooting & Legal Everywhere. (A... I Think)

This has to be one of the neatest air guns you can buy. It is extremely well made and works very well. But make sure that you use high quality BBs in it, otherwise it can jam up on you. I know, it happened to me. I couldn't figure out why this thing wouldn't work. I was using brand new BBs, but it kept jamming up, the BBs wouldn't move up the slot in the clip. Even lubricating it didn't help. Only by using high quality BBs made it work flawlessly. And after loading it up with some quality BBs, this air gun is a blast to shoot, you will not want to stop shooting this thing. But I tell ya, you sure run out of BBs quickly, so you really need to get an extra magazine, but they're not cheap, but still, they're worth it. I gotta say this though, buying this gun is a must, but you also need to buy the Steel-Storm BB gun as well. Trust me, just do it, you wont be sorry.

  • "History In Your Hands" - And NO JOKE..

So, maybe it IS more about firearms History... You're NOT going to Own a Real one. If you Do - you're Not going to be out "Enjoying" it very often, if at all.. This Umarex make "Broomhandle" is the Bestest, for the Leastest, you Ever gonna Get. Built Solidly, and Heavily, as the Real one... Plenty accurate enough, for a C02 BB gun, for Target practice, Rodent Control, or random but *Stylish* plinking. BE ADVISED - concerning Mauser 'Authenticity': the true 'Blow back Action' is a Clunky/ Distracting Affair, especially on Full Auto... but again - Just Like The Real Thing! AS WELL: the 'single, Columnar loading/ Feed' of a Limited number of BBs in the magazine provides that Same "authenticity of Ammo Limitation" with the REAL thing.. Especially on Full Auto... This Thing SPRAYS BBs FAST... and Done. This caused Mauser - to Invent/ Develop the first "Stripper Clips"! The FIRST Broomhandle models did NOT have Detachable Magazines. HISTORY in your Hands! Perfect! For All that the Umarex .177 Broomhandle Mauser offers - I Highly Recommend this 'fist full' of Awesome..

  • F u l l A u t o F u n

It’s metal, heavy, accurate and very fun to shoot. It has a little volume but we use it in the back yard. Get more BBs. Have a great day! (They make a MP40 that’s awesome also)

  • Fun Time Product

Bought as a retirement/birthday gift for a very good friend who has the appropriate heritage. It was delivered on time, nicely packed and was advertised.

  • Really good, with major flaw

This air pistol looks really cool. However, the setscrew that holds the outer barrel on tends to shake loose. So far locktite has not been able to keep it in place. Once it's loose, your accuracy is pretty bad. Fun to shoot and would be a ten if there was a permanent fix for this one issue.

  • 1st Umarex Gun

This thing is awesome. Best bb gun I have ever owned. Moved from the country to a subdivision. Neighbors were not real comfortable with me shooting my guns in the back yard. With this baby I can still practice with a full weight hand gun getting ready for deer season. I Like to hunt deer with a handgun. After getting over the fascination of full auto ( went through 27 co2 canister the first time out ) Now shooting with semiauto. Gun is very accurate and predictable. Only draw back is loading the bb's. Hard to do with arthritis. Would highly recommend just for the pleasure of shooting. Very heavy , well made gun. Will be checking out other Umarex legends guns. Wish they made a lever action Winchester copy
