Bachmann 36-568A 6 Pin Loco Decoder DCC Chip with Back EMF & Railcom (Suits N). - Fully compatible with the Railcom system. This new chip replaces 36-568, 36-558 and 36-558A. The chip is interchangeable but has a significantly improved low speed response - allowing you to creep your loco around during shunting or station work - rather than the slightly jagged low speed response of the old unit.

Excellent performance "straight from the box"
I have just installed the decoder in a Graham Farish Fowler 4F loco.. I have used the same decoder before and was not disappointed with my latest purchase. After installation, with all CVs left at default values, the loco. performed faultlessly - very slow crawl is easily achievable. The loco actually had a slight tight spot running under DC but that is not even noticeable afetr installation if the decoder. Compared to the previous 558 model, this is a great improvement. Slow running, in particular, is much improved and shunting using Dapol easy-shunt couplers is very satisfying at scale speeds. Highly recommend.

A non expert opinion.
Plug and play at its finest. Gives maximum performance where others give not so realistic movement. Worth the extra if you are having running issues. It’s only my experience and I am in no way an expert who has tried every decoder for my n-gauge collection.

Bachmann need to talk to Zimo!!!
The pins on this decoder are too thin to fit in the socket and make a good contact with the connection, and they are too long this makes the decoder droop when in the socket.
