Did not know I needed these

Been playing Strats for 30 years and used plumbers PTFE tape to stop trem arm wobble. Just discovered these springs and when I tried to install one, discovered that the trem block in my Strat had actually split with the pressure of so many years of tape compacting into it. Bought new trem block, fitted it and installed spring, perfect job and better than tape. If you own a Strat YOU NEED THESE!!!! even if, like me you have never heard of them.

Vibrato arm spring & ball insert

In my opinion the spring wasn't stout enough It remained in a compressed state after just one use. Maybe i screwed it down too much, but then again,I had too to get the arm into the height position I'm used to (Stock) Great concept. But I would gladly have paid more for better quality spring steel. That being said, the item is fit for purpose- just a question mark over how long ?

  • Tremelo arm tension springs

I've had my American Standard Stratocaster for almost 2 years now, and happened to be looking through tips and hints on a well known site that this article will not allow me to mention u tube ,I saw an article entitled "10 things you don't know about Stratocasters". Always willing to listen to someone with more knowledge than myself, I had to check it out, it mentioned the silver dot covering the socket for the whammy bar that keeps in place this small spring. If you attach your whammy bar on top of this little spring, it will allow you to rest the whammy where it suits you as opposed to letting it dangle loose or winding it tightly but in a position that doesn't suit your playing style. Unfortunately these springs are small and easy to lose so I had to get spares. I found the advert for these little beasties and they are just the job.

  • Useless

First up, they are too long - when the trem arm first hits the spring it is way too high. Secondly, if you screw it in further the 'spring' just compresses and stays squashed. There is no 'spring back'. Try squeezing one in a set of pliers and you'll see what I mean. The result I found is that the now mangled piece of metal becomes permanently jammed in the bottom of the threaded hole, so you can't screw your bar in fully, but it doesn't tension up either. Useless. And yes, I was trying then on a genuine Fender trem bridge. I give it one star because there is no zero option...

  • Gold dust rare electric guitar parts at a value price! Vintage Stratocasters only!

When I tried to find this little part I realised very quickly it was going to be difficult! Heck, these springs are even missing from some brand new guitars - even the guitar shops sometimes remove the little round sticker on the bridge of Stratocasters, - not realising it retains the tiny tremolo arm tension spring. Without the spring, the arm still works but has to be wound in tight to prevent it from flopping around - this limits the range of movement when the arm is in use. On learning this I was determined to set up my guitars properly. Even shops in America, where Fender USA are based, could not supply. Imagine my delight when I discovered a source of genuine Fender springs, in packets of a DOZEN - for under £10! I've added some of these to all my strats and the difference is very apparent in my playing - not just when adding vibrato but also for picking with long strokes - no obstruction from the parked tremolo arm, it'll lock in any position but still gives increased range of tones from its higher action. I've even got spares left in case of future need. Highly recommended for any vintage Stratocaster players.

  • A useful fix

Helps solve the floppy ttem arm problem, but take care not to overtighten. I also use some plumbers tape on the thread, as an additional measure.

  • springs for tremolo arm

These are springs you put into the tremolo hole before you twist your tremolo arm on.. they do what they say on the tin...Kinda says it all really... Would not recommend them for the following: Making coffee, writing, using instead of bus fare, reading glasses, taking the dog for a walk.. I don't know if they are of any use in other than a fender type guitar...but I bought them for my fender guitars as they are from fender and fender just so happens to make guitars...coincidence...I think not..If you don't know where to put them watch a video and find out...thank you..

  • Best and cheapest Statocaster upgrade..No Brainer!

Can't believe this is not a standard fit on all Stratocasters! No more floppy tremelo arm banging on the cord or trouble grabbing it as it's where you left it. Brilliant!

  • Put a spring in your tremelo arm.

This little screw usually comes as standard with various American made strats, underneath that little sticker on the bridge plate. Not everyone knows that these will also work on Mexican strats with a screw in tremelo arm. The difference it makes is amazing. A nice little addition to my guitar. I highly recommend this product.
