Directions for use: Turn the nozzle on the front side either a quarter to the left or right (STREAM/SPRAY). Turn off the freezer,empty it and srape away and remove any ice which is easily loosened (the thick layers).

Worked well for me
I read the reviews, which were mostly good, so decided to give it a try. I have an under the counter freezer. In the size there's no frost free option available!! I followed the instructions as regards spraying it on the the ice, but I'd also read somewhere that if you put a fan pointing in to the freezer, it's good for speeding up the defrosting process. I decided to use this as well and was delighted with how it all worked out. I will certainly use the spray again but in conjunction with the fan. I've no idea how on earth the fan made a difference, but it seemed to, so that's my method for the future. Difficult to use
I have 2 chest freezers and when de-iced, the melted ice should drain as water thru a hole in the bottom. This product results in sheets/chunks of ice on the bottom of the freezer which don't drain away and have to be removed by hand - very messy. I think it is better to use hot water containers to get a complete melt and proper drainage. This product does not make the de-freezing task easier or quicker - just different. But, it can be used on the car windscreen so it is not money wasted.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Didn't work for me
Maybe I was expecting too much from this. I used it on my freezer which had a fair bit of ice. I follwed the instructions to the letter but it didn't melt the ice. I still had to use a knife to chip away at it. For £7.25 I expect a lot better. Maybe if you only had a thin layer but my ice was an inch thick. Guess I was naive. Very disappointing
We have inherited a non auto defrost built in freezer, so bought this to help defrost it. It is necessary to first hack away nearly all the ice build up, this spray supposedly clearing the remainder. Despite using quantities of the spray, it had little effect and I resorted to the old fashioned tray of hot water, which was quicker and more effective. The design of the bottle means that it is difficult to reach corners or spray the top of the freezer. I have consigned it to the bin.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
