There may be some trickery going on inside
I purchased this with my own real money. No-one sent me a freebe to get a good review ! I have had a few slow cookers, in fact I still have them in 'the spare room' - Not good enough to use - too good to throw away. I also have half empty paint pots, yogurt makers & sandwich toasters in there.... Anyway, this looks like its going to be a 'keeper' but in the kitchen and not the spare room of doom. I have other Sage products and am very impressed with all of them, that's why I bought this. If you have the time. use the slow - low setting for casseroles etc it's like marinating it... lovely. The trickery comment is about rice cooking. I thought it had gone wrong the first time I used the risotto setting. It beeped "I have finished" far quicker than it is humanly possible to cook rice, yet the rice was perfect. I have sat and watched it while it cooks and I cant see how it does it. My kitchen favourite
This is so much more than a risotto maker. In fact it is rarely used to make risotto! I mainly use it for searing and frying then as a one pot cooker for curries, ragu, stews and sauces. Great for steaming. A favourite is steaming baking potatoes which I then put in a pan with a very small amount of hot oil and into the oven at a temperature of 210/220. All they need is 15 minutes to crisp them so very economical rather than having the oven on for over an hour. No messy stove top like you get with a frying pan as the sides are so deep and anything you make can be kept warm without it spoiling.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Absolutely amazing
I have arthritis in both hands and carpal tunnel in both wrists so I find stirring during the cooking process very painful. I had resigned myself to not being able to make various dishes but the Risotto Plus is an amazing piece of equipment and is now a vital appliance in my kitchen. It is so easy to use and extremely easy to clean. Just make sure the cooking bowl is sitting correctly and you can’t go wrong. The risotto setting ‘self-stirs’ the rice using the boiling liquid to agitate the rice which means there’s no need for any stirring at all! I am very impressed with this product and highly recommend it.

Versatile kitchen gadget
I bought this because my old rice cooker expired, the cheap replacement burnt the bottom of the rice and wasn’t doing the job. This makes great rice and creamy risotto, I’ve used the sauté function too. I’ve even made an omelette on the risotto function.
