The amazingly versatile Celestron 8mm - 24mm Zoom Eyepiece allows you to choose from a variety of magnifications in a flash! Simply grip the rubberized barrel and turn it slowly while looking through the eyepiece, and then pick the best power for the object you are observing.
It's a great bit of kit 24mm wide angle makes it easier to find objects then slowly zoom in to 8mm obviously not as good as single eyepieces and not as sharp, but it is a good budget eye piece that gives you more bang for your buck, if you were to buy let's say omni plossl 9mm to 32mm then you best have deep pockets a lot depends as well on your scope mirror refractor, you can buy top of the range eyepieces but if you scope as cost £30 then you are not going to see much 😉
It is much better than the eyepieces that come with the scope and at 8mm the image remains quite bright . Even in Bortle 7 I got a good view of M13 and M57! I use it on my bc 150mm Dobsonian and Celestron 130 EQ. There are better ( and therefore more expensive) eyepieces available but this is a good, affordable option for now as I will soon need cataract surgery.
