    Good value, easy to setup

Had to replace an old CM11a and went with this simpler unit. Now the CM11a and its software allowed you to do a lot more as far as macros and sunset-sunrise programming but the older serial communications (non-USB) stuff on the CM11 was getting difficult to support since newer PC's don't have the DB25 connectors anymore and I never found an adapter that would work. This newer unit does the job. Good strong signal and surprisingly easy to program. This model also has the back-lit clock when the transformer is plugged in (custom and proprietary transformer with x10 stuff inside so don't use any other but theirs). Why not 5 stars? MSRP VS functionality but ok for what it does.

Different from previous version, takes getting used to

Things I like compared to previous model: House code is configurable without using the usual selection wheel, and is displayed on the LCD. All lights on button is prominently located. Status of each unit switch is displayed. Things I don't like: On/off buttons are smaller and hard to locate, especially in the dark. Green glow LCD...eh, I liked the red LED better.

  • Highly cost-effective remote control for simple applications

I've used X10 timer controllers for more than 40 years, and this purchase was only my third. I expect them to last about 15 years -- poor in comparison to some of my other electronics, but not too shabby. Once I had the newly purchased controller in hand, I quickly discovered that the problem with the prior one was not in the clock/controller, but rather in the wall-wart power supply, which also contains the RF stage. If you have an MT14 or similar and the display is showing what you expect, but your modules aren't responding, my suggestion is to try replacing the power supply only, which you may find on ebay.

  • AS all othere X-10 products I have owned it is a GR88888888 addition to my home lightening system.

I have used X-10 equipment for many years & I find this event timer to be very satisfactory & as real breeze to set up & use. Many years ago I had the one I could interface with my computer but this is just a very simple but very versatile timer that I have now. Nice appearance too on my desk where I keep it. • X10 MT14A Mini Timer better than the MT13A so far

The signal booster on this MT14A model is a big improvement over the MT13A. I've been able to place the new MT14A timer in a more convenient location on a different circuit. In my experience, the older MT13As have lasted only about 2 years, so it might be a good idea to keep an extra on hand. (Only $23 a year for security, not bad, except it might fail when you're out of town.) But I do like X10 because it's easy to understand and use. I was excited when I accidentally discovered that I can use dimmable LEDs with these timers--a big savings on electricity over incandescents. (Ones from GE I've gotten don't dim completely, others from Feit and uBrite do.) By the way, BigJohn9944 provides a lot of information on making this X10 technology work. And, he ships super fast.

  • Great product replacing my obsolete Leviton 6312

This product is working very good, I am using to control the power pump, heater and lights of my swimming pool. I had a defective controller Leviton 6312 which is obsolete, so this product s replacing it with excellent results. no complaints.

  • MT14A X10 64-Event LCD Mini Timer ( New Version MT13A) MT14A X10 64-Event LCD Mini Timer

Easy to program but the times can be out of order and still work correctly which can be a little confusing. Stores plenty of On/Off events and lots of channels. It's backwards compatible with old control relays so I didn't have to buy new relays.

  • Good X10 uograde

Product replaces older technology with some improvements. If you have x-10 system this is a good upgrade. If you are used to the subdued red readout from previous models be prepared for some loud green illumination. Only wish it had a reliable and rechargeable battery back-up.

  • Had the MT13A, this one is better

I purchased the MT13A a couple of years ago and it didn't work from day one. Never got around to returning it. My bad. This one works great. My home is spread out but the MT14A activates units all around the house. Also, you can program 8 different switches/modules and they will activate regardless of the position of the "1-4 / 5-8" switch.

  • A needed replacement

My other one was outdated. This one is more up to date with features my other did not have even though the control buttons and switches are too small.
