  • Have not seen a better, full function charger

The best feature is it will charge and analyze four AA or AAA batteries at different rates or modes and report the capacity. The first time time you use can be confusing but after a few batteries it comes easy, Four buttons control all functions. If you get in the wrong mode, remove the battery, wait a few seconds and reinsert it and start over. Default it charges if no buttons are pressed. You need to know the charge/ discharge rates your battery can handle and manufacturers capacity for the refresh cycle for best results. Well made, easy to program, and identifies bad batteries. Pros; >It read out the battery capacity, lets you know how good your batteries are. >Lets you choose how fast or slow to charge or discharge the battery, each slot is independent. >Batteries can be charged without overheating, all to common problem in lesser chargers. >Ample air space around AA batteries for air flow, not crowded. Con; >The back light is a bright, it doubles as a night light. Choose a place where the light will not bother you as the refresh cycle is over 24 hours. >Larger than many others, but this allows for better air flow.

  • Max Performance from Your Rechargables

This device is as smart as you are. With charge and discharge rates entered in your batteries will perform at their very best. Be conservative values you enter to not stress the battery. The instructions will help in determining proper values to enter. Give this device time to do its job and you will be rewarded with great performance of your devices. I purchased 2 of these and they work wonderfully. Mark your batteries with established capacities. You can select batteries of near equal capacity to assemble balanced sets. This helps you and the batteries to get best performance from your devices.

  • Solid, feels high quality, excellent user interface

The device is well built - solid quality, heavy plastic, feels durable. Large LCD screen with white backlight. Excellent design of battery leads and holders with attention to details - apparently no corners were cut in engineering or production. It's made in Taiwan by Maha Energy corp. The user interface is snappy, responsive, intuitive and well thought out. Did not need to read a manual to immediately start using it. White LCD backlight is a big plus (and is the most costly to implement - great job on that) - backlight distribution is uniform and the right brightness is just right for a typical room. Display view angles are somewhat limited within ~30 degrees, with best angle being when the unit is laying on the desk supported by the "lift rod" (as the manual refers to the support frame on the back of the unit that allows it to be tilted on the table as opposed to laying flat) about 12 inches away from the user. Which is typical usecase I guess. User manual is in a good English, clear instructions with examples and recommendations for the settings in typical scenarios to get started. Even includes a section titled "General Battery Education" that explains the fundamentals of rechargeable batteries use and management. My only regret is that I did not buy it sooner.

  • Best charger with great features

Best battery charger I have ever had. It gives full control over how you charge batteries and you can charge/analyse each battery as a seperate entity and program them differently. It is more simple to use than it looks. My old off-the-shelf chargers had damaged some of my rechargeable batteries in the past, but this clever device helped to recover some of them and I can now use batteries I was going to throw away. If you don't mind pushing a few buttons, this is the charger to have. I highly recomend this charger.

  • proper tool for a proper job

great charger. it helped me find out that several of my batteries were spent. my only complaint is that it is not designed for D cells. i have to use a different charger for D size batteries.

  • Great multi-function NiMH charger!

I had an inexpensive charger for my NiMH(Eneloop) batteries but it only had the four bars charge display. The Maha C9000, however, has foyer charge modes with an LCD panel that shows the status and charge modes for each slot, which can be programmed independently. The C9000 also has programmable charge and discharge rates so you can select 1/3 C for a slower charge that's easier on the batteries, up to a full C for a fast charge, all of which can be programmed in 100s of mA up to a full amp. There is also an analyze mode that does a charge, full discharge, then full charge to give you total available mAh power cell and an anti-memory cycle for batteries you might not have used in a while. Great charger!

  • Nice charger

Nice charger for the price. I had a few batteries that it couldn't recover, but it does a nice job otherwise. Nice to be able to analyze and match up battery sets for use in my police scanner. Charging set up is nowhere as complicated as some make it seem. Individual charging channels are nice for when you have an odd number of batteries to charge.

  • Impressed!

This is the real deal. After trying the crap chargers, I have been running rechargeable batteries for a couple of years now but with the older charger I was just testing the waters and I don't believe it worked correctly. I found this one and it is has been great! This little gadget is great for letting you know if you have a bad cell/battery and you can adjust the hell out of this thing to fit most any of the normal rechargeables out there. Its easy to set up... Just place battery (AA or AAA) in the charger and it fits great, good quality pins to hold your batteries. Also, hint... all of the batteries that I have for charging show the exact charging Ma and the time require to fully recharge on the actual battery itself. The different functions can be found in the specs, I have used three different settings so far. Only regret and it is a simple one, but when the batteries are done charging, the LED backlight for the unit stays on until you remove the charged battery from the slot. No worries, just a personal gripe. This is the real deal for charging your RECHARGEABLE batteries and with this charger, its seems like it should prolong the life your batteries.

  • Awesome battery charger

Although there was a little bit of a learning curve on how to use it, this is a great charger and even better for 'tired' batteries which it can 'refresh'. We've been able to re-spark heaps of batteries back to being useful

  • Excellent charger/tester for your rechargeable batteries

This is an excellent device to have around if you have a collection of older rechargeable batteries. This will refresh your batteries and make them like new. It can't fix every battery, but it will help you find the bad ones. I would recommend this to anyone who used rechargeable batteries on a regular basis.
