  • I think these are the best strings for my Martin

Us guitarists are always looking for something better, some accesory or doodad that will give us something a little more. I have an ancient Martin D12-20 that gets used for less than 20% of my repertoire, but it gives change of dynamics. I'm an old bluegrass piocker and play reaonsabhy hard with thick picks, and these strings are as light as I dare go ... but...I tune them one tone down to D, and use a capo as necessary. The lightest string in the set - the octave G is , for me, scarily thin, but I've never (yet) broken one. You need a fair amount of string mass to drive a dreadnought top, and there are hardly ANY competitors offernig 12 tops and PB wounds in hermetically sealed packaging.

  • Great Strings & Top Brand

I've had these strings before and they're always my first choice. Firstly, there's a trustworthy name on the packet. The "Medium Top Heavy Bottom" of the EJ37s gives exactly the right sort of tone for my strongly rhythmic playing style and they sound excellent. They even look like quality, plus with the colourcoding you can't go wrong. Highly recommended, not just good strings for the price but a first class product you can rely on to do more than justice to your instrument. If you play mainly chords like I do, then this weight and brand is just the job. Nothing quite like getting a new set on and tuned up for a thoroughly satisfying experience - you'll sound so much better for having these.

  • You get what you pay for

You could find cheaper strings on ebay, but they will be false economy, you will be better off spending a little more on a good set like these, especially on a 12 set, which is a bit of a hassle to change.

  • Not used heavy gauge before

Quality strings by D'Addario as always. Interesting to note that the high octave of the A string is not plain steel, it's wound, so that might be a shock if you haven't tried these heavy gauge strings before.
