Quality sound, that's it!
This would have received five stars, but two things let this soundbar down. The remote is tiny and cheaply made the volume control isn't always responsive, necessitating manual operation on the unit itself. Great sound when loud, but granular volume control
This soundbar sounds great if you can turn it up. Unfortunately, the volume control is in discreet increments. At its lowest settings, the increments are very wide, so it goes from nothing to quite loud with nothing in between. At it's lowest settings the sound quality isn't great. But, there's no control over bass/treble to readjust. So, to enjoy this soundbar it needs to be loud, which is not something that is always feasible in a semi detached house.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Sound bar that’s great for music!
This is such a great piece of kit. Yes it’s 2.1, not 5.1 or pretending to fool your ears into believing sound is coming from all around you, but this, really, is its strength. As Q Acoustics make fantastic speakers it’s no surprise that the M4 good with music, either CD’s or streamed Bluetooth sound fantastic. Crisp treble and decent bass from the built in downward facing sub-woofer. It’s on all day every day at home. Playing movies through it, and this delicacy that it shows your music means dialogue never gets muddied, even in the middle of an explosion rich Marvel or Michael Bay grand finale! The subwoofer never feels overwhelmed by explosions or gunfire. A separate subwoofer the size of a tumble dryer would shake your internals to a much higher degree, neighbours allowing, and there’s a Subwoofer output on the back panel in case you fancy it, but day to day I’ve not tired of listening to the M4, or missed the separate subwoofer. On the back panel there’s the Sub-out, and RCA (phono’s), a Toslink optical and 3.5mm mini jack inputs. Here’s my only criticism, a second optical input would be great, so you could run a CD/Blu-ray and a second digital source. The remote is a small credit card style one, with just source, volume and power, but it’s all you really need. Controls are pretty much replicated on the main unit, with a colour coded LED that tells you what source you’re listening to. Green for RCA, white for Optical and blue for Bluetooth. A wall mount is included and little rubber feet for table mounting along with an RCA(phono) cable, a 3.5mm jack lead and an Optical cable. It’s about a metre wide and 14 cm’s deep in the central section to accommodate the subwoofer. Overall it’s such a nice sounding bit of kit, it’s won loads of awards over the last few years and is a bit of a too well kept secret. Buy one. You’ll love it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Q Acoustics M4 is the very best.
Having gone through what most people have been through when trying to find ‘that’ sound bar that simply works , I have to honestly say that the Q Acoustics M4 is top of the pile when it comes to delivering with all types of music. Jazz to heavy metal, the mighty Q handles it all. No messing with EQ controls - it just delivers. As a subtle powerhouse it is in its element. A great well designed soundbar that takes the rest of the field and dismisses them. If you want a soundbar that produces the sound accurately, then the Q Acoustics M4 is the one. At today’s prices must be the best sound per pound available
Very good sound especially for music videos. Loud enough even for larger rooms. MDF cabinet fo good damping. Good presence and body to sound. Amazing sound quality
I bought this to replace my Pioneer Surround Sound System, which was good but kinda outdated, with annoying wires everywhere. I read so many reviews of the best new sound bars & 'What Hi-Fi' rated it their product of the year last year, so I thought I'd take the plunge I have to say I'm overwhelmed, I never expected it to be this good. I play a lot of music & honestly, this sound bar does the job of my old Technics stack. Music sounds incredible through it & it's so loud, without distorting even at high volume. My new Panasonic 4K Tv sounded ok but the sound was so thin, it needed a serious boost & the M4 gives it that & more. Films sound equally good. Versatile unit of a high standard
Very high sound standard. I was worried that the bass would be weak with no separate base unit. I needn't have worried because the base is perfect as are the middle and high frequencies. Perfectly balanced. As a TV sound bar it is everything I could have wished for. With the ability to connect to other sources like smartphone adds to the versatility of this unit.
