The Stearman PT-17 Kaydet in 1:48 scale by Revell is an unassembled plastic model kit of a propeller plane. This detailed replica of the iconic Stearman plane is perfect for aviation enthusiasts and hobbyists looking to build their own miniature version of this classic aircraft. With the brand's reputation for quality and attention to detail, this model kit is sure to provide a rewarding building experience for modellers of all skill levels.
The kit is surprisingly well moulded, in an attractive bright yellow plastic. For the price, less than £15, the level of detail is very good and the kit is a good base for further detailing by an experienced modeller. I like the all-yellow alternative colour scheme and will add a drop of red to the yellow paint to warm it a little that is in keeping, I think, with the paint used on the aircraft in its day. It will build into a very attractive model.
The reason for four stars, instead of five, is simply because like all models, it's not a toy; some of the parts are quite delicate, so it doesn't qualify as durable and it won't tolerate too much handling, once completed. However, once put on display, it should last indefinitely, if curious hands are kept at bay.
