SUPERB AIR RIFLE WITH ALL THE POWER YOU NEED! GREAT BUY AND GREAT REVIEWS!
I read about this air rifle thoroughly prior to making a selection. My budget allowed for a $300 expenditure and I got it for well under that. Some reviewers claimed that the trigger wasn't good. However, it is fully adjustable to the point that it nearly matches my creep-free $3,000 Weatherby. It prints groups at 30' in my indoor range of 1/4" all day long and I use a steel pellet trap designed for .22 and .17 rimfire rounds due to the gun's high velocity.
And, it does come with a REAL wooden stock. It isn't fancy but the pressed checkering is far better than that found on my older Remington 870 Wingmasters!
Recoil is present even with a very robust recoil pad, on par with a .243 Winchester, very tolerable compared to my .338-.378 Weatherby!
The barrel does require a robust effort to open prior to loading but that's how you get an airgun to easily break the sound barrier.
I don't hunt anymore so this is a great indoor passtime for me with a benchrest setup and everything I would have at the range. The scope that came with it isn't multi-coated but is a decent 3x9x40mm with an AO. Accuracy is consistent target to target and the barrel locks into place without moving point of impact.
The gun is heavy! However, I installed an Uncle Mike's sling with the cushioned and flexible padded strap and that makes it easy to carry. I could carry this in the field all day long if I were out hunting.
About the only recommended maintenance is ensuring that the action/stock screws are checked for tightness every month and depending on how much you shoot it, a single drop of nitro air gun oil is inserted into the breech every 250 rounds.
I am very satisfied with the air rifle and it comes highly recommended even as I compare it to a rather expensive Weatherby. The only other trigger groups I have are on some CZ set trigger target rifles that can be reduced to 0.2 pounds of let off and zero creep. They are a breed unto themselves.
Five stars to Benjamin/Sheridan who now seem to be owned by Crossman.
