    Excellent bread maker!

I haven't had a breadmaker before but fancied having a go, mainly to move away from ultra high processed shop bought products. I didn't want to buy new in case it turned out just to be a fad for me so got a hardly used one off ebay. I'm a convert! It's so easy to make, it only takes about 5 minutes to weigh and chuck in the flour, sugar, salt, butter, water and yeast, and it makes perfect bread every time. I use granary flour and the loaves are consistently delicious. You can set the timer for the loaf to be ready in up to 13 hours ahead, and the whole thing is mega easy to clean afterwards. Excellent product!

  • Most critical review

    Very good but overpriced

I bought this bread maker purely on the reviews and I have not been disappointed. It has a good range of programmes that cover all you are ever likely to need. It is easy to use and makes consistently great bread provided you follow the recipes exactly. The seperate dispensers for yeast and seeds or fruit is a good feature. My only criticism would be the rather lightweight, plasticky lids and control panel. For the premium price I had expected better quality.

  • A worthy replacement from our old unit, but will it last as long?

We purchased this unit to replace our old SD-25 that lasted us over 10 years. We were so pleased with our past unit that we decided to remain with Panasonic despite the much higher price than other units from other manufacturers. This new unit is much more expensive compared to our previous one (inflation adjusted and all). It has exactly the same recipes too! We observe that this unit is now more efficient in terms of ingredient, so less waste overall it would seem. As the title suggests, we are concerned that this unit is not going to last us a decade or more. Indeed, the orientation of the pan is different (moved by 90 degrees). The lid is very heavy and therefore the hinge is now far smaller and wobbly! We are being very careful, and we are trying to teach our kids to be careful also when using this unit, however the hinge feels so flimsy that we fear one hurried use will be all it takes to break it. Consequently we decided to register the unit immediately with Panasonic, hopefully they will be flexible in case of problems. In terms of loaves and breads, everything we have tried so far came out brilliantly. The yeast dispenser is awesome and ensures that the loaves rise correctly.

  • It does a lot of things and does them very well

A versatile bread maker. Recommended by Which? Many programs for various types of bread all easily selected by program numbers. The delay feature is most useful to ensure freshly baked bread in the morning. You do need the instruction book with a multitude of recipes for not only Bread but for Dough, Cakes Jam and Compote. This instruction/recipe booklet can be downloaded from the Panasonic website

  • Very pleased with purchase

Makes lovely bread but is rather expensive. Will have to make a lot of loaves before it pays for itself but will be worth it in the long run. Looks classy and a good solid bit of kit. Especially like the yeast and fruit/nut dispenser features. Overall, very pleased with my purchase. Never been let down with a Panasonic purchase. Would highly recommend.

  • Will never purchase a loaf of bread again.

Super happy that I chose to pay a bit more for this product, it looks good, it is so easy to use with plain instructions and photographs. I have never been very confident in the kitchen, but this makes me feel 'so Pro' .. it has many features which I have yet to try and I cannot wait.

  • Excellent Panasonic SD-ZB2502BXC

Used to have SD-250 but the tin, paddle etc really needed to be replaced but the overall cost to do this was not in my opinion economic. Had a look at the various Panasonic models available and the SD-ZB2502BXC was the modern day direct replacement. Yes it is expensive but worth every penny, great results every time a easy to clean and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

  • Versatile bread maker

Have had one of these for many years, making bread 2 / 3 time per week. Main negative issue was the teflon coating comes of the paddle after a few months, but it still usable. Teflon coating also started to come off the bucket, but again still usable and easy enough to clean. Had to replace because the bucket bearing seized up, could have got replacement but decided its worth paying the extra to get a new machine. Its the only one I know of that has a separate container for adding seeds at the right time in the process. Usually load it up with ingredients late evening, program it to finish making loaf for 5am, then by 6.30am its cooled down enough ready for slicing.

  • Fantastic breadmaker

Replacing an older Panasonic bread-maker with this one. Love the new separate nut/raisin and yeast feeds on top. My wife makes all sorts of breads that have different flavours and textures. The recipe booklet gives a good range of different bread recipes. Rather pricey but will give good value if used often.

  • Does exactly what it says it will do.

Love my new bread maker. It’s easy to use with a great instruction manual with lots of recipes I can’t wait to try out. Only made one loaf so far but it was a well made loaf: the browning was just as I wanted it to be and the texture was good. It’s lovely to have that fresh bread smell in the house and know exactly what has gone into the loaf that comes out. This is not the cheapest bread maker you can buy but it works so much better than the last machine I had. The bread is a loaf ( oblong) shape as opposed to a tall square shape from other machines, and it comes out of the pan and off the paddle really easily. I hope this non stick quality continues which will mean I can have fresh, good tasting bread whenever I need it.
