Great pH tester
I have a higher priced pH tester from Hanna (#98128) that was giving curious and suspect results. I bought this much cheaper one to replace it as I thought the electrode was out and the replacement cost for the electrode was more than this #98108 one cost. The calibration is easier and absolute (you don't have to hope that it was calibrated correctly, you just turn a screw to match the calibration solution), and this unit came to the result faster and without the wait, wait, wait feature of the more expensive one.
On checking the results between the two, both were almost the same, for instance, a sample was reading 8.2 vs. 8.4. I don't know which one is correct because neither matched the titration. But a pH test is for orders of magnitude. I don't care much about the tenth's result as I use the pH test results for direction...is my calcite unit working or not; do I need to add calcite.
Buy this one for 90% of people's needs. It is a great tool, so long as you are not NASA looking for extreme accuracy for the pH of rocket fuel as the stainless steel piping may corrode!
