Better than magnetic version.
Transferred the tiles into a zipped purse and bought a neoprene iPad cover to reduce bulk for the board. No plans to play on the plane but easy way to transport for the holiday. Purse and iPad cover very, very cheap on this website, too!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Too small
We bought this to replace a much older set. It is smaller than expected, so the tiles are small. The tiles just rest in a ribbed grid, so not much to stop them falling out. The manufacturers have then seen fit to use a smaller type face than they could have, and have chosen green instead of black. We are going to need a strong light to play this by. Neat little product
I bought this as it fits nicely on my desk. Originally I was looking for the magnetic version I remember from my youth, but it looks like it's been discontinued, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, the pieces in this version do tend to get knocked about a bit, as they don't sit tight enough within the special 'walled sections'. Rather Disappointing.
We had our old travel scrabble for about 40 years. Unfortunately, the little pegs ion the corners of the tiles were breaking off, so we bought this new one a week ago, in order to alieviate the tedium of "Shielding", and we've played 5 games so far. 1. The board is quite small, so that the legend on the squares is quite difficult to read, though I suppose that doesn't matter once you have learnt the colours. 2. The tiles are also rather small for old and rheumaticy fingers like mine. 3. The board is covered by a see-through plastic grid, but the letter tiles don't quite fit into the squares, and are very easily displaced. 4. The bag, out of which you pull the tiles is thin plastic, and I can't see it lasting long. Couldn't we have a cloth bag? It's a great pity, because Scrabble is a fantastic game, I think a redesign is needed - come along, Mattel, do better!.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A Good Buy
I already have a traditional Scrabble board but when playing the game with youngsters, frequently the tiles were jogged so I bought this travel model. Certainly avoids the "jogging" problem but I'm elderly which is probably why I find the tiles fiddly and not always easy to affix, apart from which it's still a great game and well worth buying.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not fit for purpose.
Letters far too small and difficult to handle. The letters do not lock into the board and therefore cannot be used for travelling like previous Travel Scrabble .Obviously made for cheapness. We can only use it at home on a table. Please bring back the old version. If we could find the older version, we would buy it.
