When Ibanez released the Soundgear bass nearly 20 years ago, it personified the phrase: #Everything but traditional.# The Soundgear was light and curvaceous, with a thin neck and versatile, active electronics on board. Features that the electric bass pioneers from the 50s would never have dared to dream of. With the easy-to-play, full-length Prestige necks, Bartolini® electronics and a handful of other upgrades, the 2006 Soundgear Prestige basses have catapulted even further towards optimal playability and versatility. The pivotal point of the Soundgear philosophy is and remains that modern basses can produce every conceivable tone from punk to funk for players who prefer a slim neck. All of our items have a 30-day return policy without any additional charges. Reason. Sheet music, readi.
Love the feel of this bass guitar, the neck is very slim which makes it very easy to play and you can get the string action quite low on this which in turn makes it easy on the fingers.
The tones you can get are very good with the pickup configuration you can choose, and also the tone control.
All in all a very well made guitar that is well worth the price it is, I dont think you could find anything out there in this price range to match this.

The bass had lots of dings and scratches on the body, both back and front. I paid a luthier to setup the bass and replace the strings. Originally the strings were so high it was extremely hard to play and the tone was awful. Now that the bass has been professionally setup it sounds and plays great. The guitar wasn't as advertised and certainly not setup as described. Initially I was disappointed but fortunately with some help the bass has been given a new lease of life.
