    Big capacity and access everywhere

Product is working perfectly, which I have synced both my laptops into the drive and tested to access remotely in University while leaving the NaS at home, its really good! However it produced quite some sound while on but no worry if for personal use, able to shut down remotely using the WD Apps, appreciate for kind and patient seller!

    PAS not NAS

Firstly, this isn't a true NAS box and pretty disappointed with this 4TB Box. Its very limited with no dashboard, no scope to expand features. Its pretty basic functions. Its expensive considering I could get a external harddrive and plug it direct in to a router for the same function. There is a big question mark over security, no ftp management, no user account management, no itunes server and can't view the box unless you login into a Western Digital App via a web account setup. Its more of a PAS (personal attached storage) device but considering the cost its expensive for its capability. The MY CLOUD is better but again more expensive so I have opted to replace this already with a QNAP 228A NAS Box. The one great feature is the PLEX addon which does a very good job of streaming my media files although struggles with some 4K streams. If you can get a cheap one off ebay then great but I would recommend alternatives first before opting to go for this so called NAS Box. At the end of the day you want a NAS box that will last a good few years, sadly I doubt this unit will stand the test of time.

  • Not easy to use

Found this hard to set up and keeps telling me there are security issues, and difficult to access most of the time

  • Unable to play MP3 files.

Bought this when my Seagate wireless network drive died.. Looked perfect and does what is says on the tin storage wise.... however please be aware this item WILL NOT play mp3 files through the cloud app. You can see them on the cloud side of things but they will not play and you get the unsupported sign. My way around this was to map the drive as a normal network drive on a pc [nas storage]... transfer MP3 files into that folder, and use file browser on my iphone 7 to play these. Downside is that you can no longer see the files when your away from home... but that's fine for me as I only use mp3 files at home. Everything else is fine..just be aware if you store mp3 files on the cloud server side files you will not be able to play them on anything.

  • I like the machine but bits missing like access to docs not included - have to use PLEX

I like the machine but bits missing like access to docs not included for some odd reason. I have to use PLEX app for videos / music. I think things will improve over time. Over all pleased.

  • What an amazing piece of tech!!!

I absolutely love this, it took me a couple of hours to set up and transfer all my stuff over, but now OMG it’s so easy to use and the mobile app is great to. Luckily Apple TV now has a £2.99 app and that’s made life even easier to watch my media. I’d highly recommend. Oh one last thing it does REALLY help to have super fast broadband

  • Great external memory store but noisy

Very happy with how easy this is to use and how large memory I have got with 4 TB. I would however say that it is noisy as it re-index is it self
