No more waste - wonderful !!
I should have bought this years ago. It makes life so much easier and enjoyable by being able to eat good quality food at a time when I want it. Instead of wasting things which go bad through opening the airtight packaging and then storing it in the fridge, in the hope that it will last for a few days or more, the vacuum sealer keeps it fresh for ages; and so saves waste. I did a test with some home-made humus, which usually goes off within a week, where after ten days in the vacuum bag it was just as fresh as when I first made it. With the flexible hose attachment, I can now seal the Foodsaver containers, as well as sealing jars; so it gives me all the more flexibility in preserving food while retaining the goodness. Eliminating freezer burn on stored food, such as chicken, fish and meat, is also another wonderful money saving bonus. No more spoiled food. Having the double sealing facility, where one makes the seal on the new bag while you can cut it to length in one simple operation, makes everything work really efficiently. Essentially it's a well thought out unit that works well and provides a lot of features to cover just about every need. Watching all of the things which people use their vacuum sealers for on Youtube has given me a lot of ideas. For anyone who hates wasting food and who enjoys having their fresh produce kept in great condition in either the fridge or the freezer, then this is a must. The Foodsaver FFS006 is a superb unit, well built, easy to use and clean while having twin vacuum motors to ensure that all the air is taken out of the bag or container. With the removable drip tray, it makes keeping the unit clean and free from any contamination while taking only a minute or two to do. I could not recommend this model more. It's worth every penny and will more than earn its keep in the months to come.
