A good buy!
Saw this book which seemed ideal for a beginner like me at a reasonable price and nicely sized. Hints on materials, composition, perspective, etc. as well as general information to get you started. I found it very helpful - but, in addition, a talented artistic friend asked me to order her a copy too as she found it useful in (terrible pun, I'm afraid!) 'brushing up' on some of her techniques. I think it will be well used and get me actually drawing rather than just talking about it.
