  • Nifty fifty

Sharp, light, reasonably good value, this 25mm Olympus lens offers a more affordable, and certainly more compact alternative to the Olympus f/1.2 25 mm model. If you're not fussed about weather-sealing and the admittedly impressive build quality of the f/1.2, you'll be happy with the f/1.8. I actually find the f/1.8 sharper than the f/1.2, but perhaps that's just me.

  • Lightweight and great all-round lens

Prior to buying the lens I already owned two kit lenses (the 14-42mm zoom lens and 40-150mm zoom lens) as well as the 45mm f1.8 prime. I really enjoyed the performance of the 45mm and hoped that the 25mm could become my 'default' lens that could deliver the same sharpness as the 45mm but with a larger field of view. To my joy it really does. Build quality is not the best. The lens hood is prone to scratching and doesn't satisfyingly click like with the pro range of Olympus lenses. The lens itself is pretty lightweight and whilst not a convincing metallic feel, it doesn't feel flimsy. However, considering the price (especially if you get a good second hand deal) the build quality is quite satisfactory and not nearly as bad as some reviewers make it out to be. The performance of the lens is impressive. Whilst I don't think it is quite as sharp as the 45mm f1.8, this lens does perform very well; see sample pictures to see for yourself. Value for money. I got the lens for £230 which I believe to be money well spent. For me, the lens is a fantastic lens that sits very well between the kit kind of lenses and the pro range. It is a very convenient and lightweight lens that performs very well in all lighting conditions especially with the aperture opening up to 1.8 for low light and the lens hood to help in very bright conditions.

  • A must own lens for my Drone

Bought this for a DJI Inspire 2 Zenmuse X5s unit. It equates on a Micro four thirds to 50mm and is my go to lens on this UAV

  • always useful

A quality ND filter - esp handy in overseas (i.e. sunny!!) conditions. This one is excellent. Olympus don't need me to tell you just how good thei lenses are - this one is a s/h bargain.

  • Great lens for shallow depth of field

What a fantastic lens, the build quality is not notch and the shallow depth of field you can achieve with this is stunning and has really taken my portrait photography to the next level.

  • A great little lens

A very good lens. Light, small, unobtrusive, excellent for street work. Solid enough body and it takes very crisp images. I have an Olympus OMD 5, and I thought about buying the Panasonic 25mm, but I decided to go for the Olympus and am very pleased that I did. Definitely worth the extra money.

  • Nice little lens.

Nice compact sharp lens and light. Roughly same size and weight as 14-42mm kit lens but better build quality.
