Good value for money
A nice radio which I would hold up against any Pure or Roberts both of which I have owned - in fact this radio was ordered to replace a Pure which I had got tired of supplying endless expensive batteries for. The Philips may not be the most logical radio to operate (the pre-select system takes a bit of getting used to) but it has good volume and a clear tone. I suffer from loss of hearing so both of these are important to me. Pound for pound I think this is a better radio than its competitors. Would recommend it without reservation. If I have one niggle it's that the display doesn't stay lit when you are running the radio on batteries but I would guess that's a power conservation thing.
