I find that Gutermann thread is the best thread to use whether for hand sewing or the machine. I always have tension problems with my machine if I use any other thread but Gutermann works like a dream. This thread is very good quality although on the expensive side. It works well with my brother v5 and I have had no issues with it. It sews well and doesn’t fray.
