useless junk
I understand that the product was cheap, so expected it to be flimsy. I still expected it to work, it failed and rounded off as soon as I put any pressure on it. when I buy sockets that I plan to use only once or possibly twice, I do not want to pay an arm and a leg for it, if however, I was using it on a regular basis I would have bought a quality tool and paid more for it. this tool failed to work and I had to take the bike to Halfords who removed the shimano's using the same type of tool without any problem. Quality not great...
Sorry to report that this item was not fit for my purposes. It had a loose fit and did not engage properly with the spines on the Shimano gears to remove them. I had to purchase another tool from Halfords, which cost a little more, but did the job.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not fit for purpose
Ridges are too small to engage with teeth on a standard shimano hyperglide lock-ring. This tool will round off the teeth on your lock-ring if any significant torque is applied. Spend a few more quid and get a decent one.
