About this product

Product Information

Top Fuel Dragsters are the fastest racing cars on the planet. Powered by huge 8,000bhp engines, the quickest cars can accelerate from 0-100mph in less that a second, reaching over 330mph by the end of a quarter-mile timed run. The noise and spectacle of a Top Fuel Dragster in action is truly astonishing. This fascinating manual provides a unique insight into the engineering of these incredible machines, and takes a look behind the scenes from the perspective of the driver and team members to explain how the cars are designed, built, maintained and driven.

  • The title is a little misleading as to the content

Absolutely brilliant insight into the world of Top Fuel drag racing. The book is a 2014 issue so is a bit out of date with the power of the cars and the terminal speeds and times. This is not a workshop manual as the name suggests, but more of an informative look at the sport.

  • not quite what I thought it was going to be

Overall, it's not a bad book, I have a number of others that are available, but what I'm disappointed with, is that it doesn't cover enough of the early front engined slingshot cars and around 3/4 of the manual is about the later and modern rear engined top fuel dragsters, which although much safer than the old slingshot dragsters, just don't do it for me.
