  • Great history and reference book on Chaparral race cars.

There are no other books with as many pictures and as much information on Chaparral cars in existence that I have ever found. In November of 1985 when the author Richard Falconer, and photographer, Doug Nye were at Chaparral Cars, in Midland, TX, visiting with Jim Hall researching and taking pictures. I was there also taking pictures of my own and even have pictures of both my sons, Then ages eight and five sitting the Chaparral 2D, that I witnessed winning the Nurburgring 1000 km sports car and sports prototype race on the first weekend in 1966. I highly recommend this book to anyone intersed in Chaparral Cars and their history. Both the pictures below are pictures I took, The first one at Chaparral cars, Inc, and the second one I took at Le Mans during the 24 hr endurance race on the third weekend in June, 1966.

  • Chaparral Geeks Must Have This Book!

This review is for Chaparral geeks only. If you think that Jim Hall and his Chaparrals were innovative and leaders in technology back in their era - they were, in spades. If you think that Jim Hall was the beneficiary of General Motors 'secret help' and that his team were not really the brains behind the amazing string of cars that came out of Midland Texas, you would be wrong - just like I was before I bought this book. It is a great accounting of how Chaparral Cars really operated. I now have worlds of respect for what this team did, and I am very glad I bought this book.

  • Chapparal

Lots of detail on each car and it's evolution and success at various race tracks around the world. Chronicles a very special time in motorsports history with drivers being constructors and legendary names that were Jim Hall's contemporaries.
