Works as it should, couple things though..
Klein is well made gear...If you're in the trade (or want to look like you are) this is what to buy.. Couple things though.. I thought the unit had a warble tone choice. There are a choice of frequencies, but quite frankly in a data center there are all kinds of fly away harmonics in the cabling and they all sound like a distant signal. That alternating "cop" tone that you get in other Klein products is unmistakable, and I thought that would be in there but it wasn't. And the "throw" of the tone wasn't quite as strong as I hoped. Usually you can hear a faint signal a couple of cables away and hone in.. But recently if I wasn't toning a known run.. I might not have found it.. I like the number tags feature.. When checking a multi outlet point in a room, it's sooo much easier and faster.. Build quality and feature set.. nailin it..Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Nice tester loaded with features!
This is a great tester for the money. I was ready to pay full price at HD and found this one on Ebay for much cheaper. I also have the lan scout junior which I had just purchased but really was wanting this after watching reviews on all the features. Nice solid unit.
Nice unit. Good quality and no problems so far. I especially like the cable length measurement feature. The battery connector wires are a tight fit with the battery in its compartment, making it a little difficult to get the cover on neatly, but it's OK. Since the meter comes with a set of remotes and I keep some short patch cables with it, there are multiple pieces and it would be nice if the case were included. I work for a broadband company. The company provides our tools but nothing this nice or useful. This tester is able to trace up to 19 separate lines, cable or data at the same time (with optional LanMap kit). Other kits allow for other uses. Great tool, tragic instruction manual
Tool does a lot, but the instruction manual is pathetic (or engineers aren't the brightest stars), for example - the hub blink feature. Instruction says that you can't use this tool with POE switch. In XXIst century POE switches are so common that this feature is useless!!! Lucky for me there's a simple way around this problem to use this feature with POE gear, but instruction manual doesn't mention about it at all!!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Klein Scout Pro 3 vs Scout Pro 2
This Unit is great and better than the Scout Pro 2. It has multiple test but it can tell you the length of a ca ble and tell you if there is a short. The distance measure has to calibrated for the cable you are using. Relly a great unit.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Incredible tool.
I liked Klein hand tools previously, but i am super impressed with this cable tester. The case and non-slip rubber components are very rugged ready for accidental drops. Scout Pro3 is a PRO.
