Great upgrade from kit lens
Somewhat bulkier and heavier than the Olympus kit lenses, this is IMHO a very worthwhile upgrade as it is "faster" with a constant aperture throughout the zoom range, and gives much better image quality (sharpness, contrast etc) and focusses quicker. The new price makes it debatable value for money but by buying carefully used, you can get a much more cost-beneficial upgrade over the standard kit lens. Having just had the opportunity to put my used example through its paces outdoors, photographing my grandkids at a local playground, I have to say that I am really pleased with the lens's performance
