Sys3 (!!!) lives up to the hype?
Well first off I will say that although I was a bit disappointed with the much awaited SYS3 Festool Systainer (I purchased the 437mm type from the fabulous and excellent service giving Alan Wadkins Store) ,I still gave it a perfect 5 🌟 rating,cause after all it is Festool ,it is a great product, and it does its job marvelously despite or because it’s simple yet extremely effective design and execution. All that being said though,I did expect more ... First and the biggest disappointment for me was that I was damn sure these dudes come with an extra lil handle(It seemed like that was the case in the pics),and it turns out it’s a sort of handle for grabbing the Systainer but it does certainly not fold in and out like the large top handle...bummer #1. Bummer #2 for me came in the form of the top handle being square as opposed to the previous handle version which was curved on both sides and much cooler in my opinion and also handier. Which leads to the third thing that has changed on these guys and that’s the fact that the handle folds in and out in the opposite direction of the previous version...I.e. instead of folding out towards the opening of the lid,it now folds out away from it,which seems kinda awkward to me at least .I gather it’s a getting-used-to thing,but still...why change it? Last strange albeit very minor detail is that the Festool logo is printed upside down🤷🏻♀️. All in all a great organizing and storage box,a lot of the new curves and details in this new design are quite nice,but it would have been perfect if they left the already cool design bits of the previous version and combined it on this one. Kinda if it ain’t broke don’t fix it deal. And if that lil handle down there could actually fold out!😄😎🥰 In any case...thanks again Festool!!!Keep it up baby,keep it up!🙏🏼❤️😘👌🏿🌕🐚❄️✨🌹 Oh and one last thing...the previous angled lock rotating mechanism was also nicer as opposed to this rounded one...sorry I know it all seems like purely aesthetic issues but it just looked cooler before...and what’s more important than that eh? 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏽♀️😜😂😅😂😅😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😼😻😺😸 Update: OK a good few months later, AND a good MANY more Gen3 Systainers, and I gotta say I quickly grew in Love with these lil Design Award winning Babies!! These things ROCK man!! Friggin great!! The bottoms handle that does only fold in the smaller Systainers and it’s handy, but I learned that just the handle to grip on the larger Sys’ is very very good to have. For heavy machines like the OF2200, or the HK85( which as of now don’t come with these new guys, but I recently got an HK85 and her T-Loc SYS5 arrived broken , and I switched her to this exact M437!! Amazing!), or when you have a few stacked ones...that handle is imperative! I don’t what it is about em but they work better for me than that tired and true T-Loc which is still perfect in its own right. And I think I now get why the handle and Logo are “upside down”.... it’s a equilibrium issue when carrying heavy stuff in em. Kinda hard to explain but now I just grab em from the other side and it’s nooooo Problem baby!! Last thing which is also pretty cool n handy...that I forgot to mention, these top handles lock with a ‘snap’ !!!
