Compact and quiet... Seems perfect for my everyday needs.
One trouble with many lenses made for full frame is their size and sometimes how noisy they are. In this case it is quiet and compact. Suitable for stills and video, blogging and events. F2 is fast enough for low light, but not as good as faster primes suited to low light. It is a good standard due to standard wide angle, so you can easily crop to slightly closer focus equivalent or use to great affect in crop mode. A nice option for aps-c cameras too, but not the cheapest option in that area. You can get this for a similar price used as the Sony 20mm f2.8 aps-c lens. But it is about the size of the Sony 50mm fe lens. Note that used price on Sony 50mm Fe is less, but it makes more noise which can be slightly annoying for video. I'd rate it and hope you will too, beats the 35mm f2.8 from Samsung and might be my new everyday lens. Not compared to Zeiss 35mm, but I think this is an easy choice for a wide. Or standard on crop sensors.

Great lightweight lens at a reasonable price.
I bought this lens to go with my full-spectrum converted Sony A7. I have been really pleased with the results so far. The lens is also very light compared to my other lenses, and being an f2 means I can use it in lower light conditions. Well Worth The Money.
It's capable of delivering high levels of sharpness, it's compact, lightweight and not too expensive. The aperture has to be stopped down to improve performance towards the edges of the frame, and to reduce chromatic aberrations, but overall the lens performs well, I use it on a Sony A7ii and the camera with its built in lens correction works great so aberrations etc are not a problem. If any, they can be overcome using Photoshop in the final processing, or as i do use the built in one on Sony A7ii.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
