  • Its the best sealer out there!

I have used Wellseal joint sealer for many years, it is the best compound on the market. It was used on steam engines many years ago and I have used it on classic motorcycles, with great success. First, clean both metal faces to be sealed together with solvent. Also making sure that the faces are true, or flat. There is a correct way of using this product which I will share hear; The sealer is brown and very watery for a reason. You can use a fine art brush or a small drop on a rubber-glove. As you spread the brown liquid, you will see it go yellow in colour, this tells you, that you now have the exact thickness of sealer for the task ahead. Once both services are yellow, leave for 2-5 minutes until tacky, --- now you can join the two peaces together. Now you should have a clean joint, but, if you do manage to get any surplus sealer by the joint, you can clean it of with cellulose-thinners. I hope this will help anyone, who expects the best finish.

  • Gasket seal

This is the closest thing to the good old Hermatite you can get. It is quite liquid so can get nicely into threads. Wellseal is far far better than the silicone type sealant on the market and less messy.

  • Not the cheapest but really good stuff.

This is one of those old fashioned products that still has a place today, just be aware that it's a lot runnier than you think so if you're not careful it'll drip out of the tube. (It has a similar consistency and appearance to shellac). I use a small stiff artist's paintbrush to apply it to both surfaces, it does start to go tacky fairly quickly but I've found it'll still work even after drying for half an hour or so. I can't think of any downsides apart from the mess it makes if spilt!

  • Excellent sealer

A very good non hardening sealant. I used this when I was employed as a mechanic back in the 1980s and I was pleased to find it is still available. easy to spread with no lumpy bits and because its non hardening, there is time to apply it to a large area.

  • Excellent gasket sealer

I’ve been using this stuff for years. I use it on all gaskets including head gaskets. It’s easy to apply being a liquid, stays tacky, easy to remove, excellent piece of mind product, nice to know it won’t leak !

  • Excellent product!

Having tried many gasket sealers, I find Wellseal the best. It is a bit messy to apply but does the job very well. As it never really sets hard unlike some other sealants gaskets are always easy to remove later.

  • Welseal.

A bit on the expensive side I thought but when I used it on my b 25 realised it was worth every penny really good to apply and gave you plenty time to work with it, great stuff.

  • Well seal ! Job well done

If your rebuilding classics or doing work on your every day vehicle then this is the jointing compound to use. It always ensures a leak free joint and as it remains flexible disassembly is no problem either. I wouldn't use anything else!

  • The proper stuff

The right product for the job. Best for older engines ie classic cars. Doesn't leave nasty silicon oozing out, so nice and neat and also seals too!
