It is very easy to read in the day but at night the hands don’t show up too well because there is only a thin stripe of luminous paint on them.It’s especially hard if you normally wear glasses, there is an easy to press button to light it up though so if you can easily reach that then you can read it by night like that.But the numbers are easy to read and it is truly silent and it looks very smart.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The numbers on the dial are large and do in fact glow in the dark, BUT, the minute and hour hands are very indistinct and do not reflect sufficient light to indicate what time it is without using some supplementary light source. This clock is ok, no ticking noise thank goodness, slight whirring noise if you listen hard. Can see numbers on clock in the dark, but slightly harder to see where the hands are, need to push button on top to light up, might be just my eyesight. Good clocks but not totally silent
I like the clocks and though the second hand doesn't make a tick-tock sound it isn't completely silent makes a noise slightly like a spinner going round but is quite quiet .
