Good quality pencils
These are great quality, highly pigmented with thick cores that allow for broad strokes and fine work. You MUST use a high quality manual pencil sharpener. Do DONT use an electric or manual crank sharpener or it will break the cores all the time. I use a high quality brass two-holed M+R Sherman sharpener. Don't use a cheap wedge shaped one.
