Amazing Quality Refurb
You can honestly find more professional reviews of the MG279Q out there, but I'll give my opinion - This monitor is down right GORGEOUS. In general, if you have the GPU power to run 1440p natively at stable FPS, then you're doing yourself a disservice if you're still running on a 1080p monitor. If you can afford a 1440p panel (IPS a PLUS!), 144Hz refresh rate, DO IT. Not only do you get the benefit of cleaner, less aliased images even at something low like FXAA or just 2x MSAA, you also have the benefit of greater screen space on the desktop - that means more space for side-by-side windows for Word/Excel, and even web pages and streaming services if you have the processing power. With this monitor being factory authorized refurbished, I actually think that's a good thing! Major issues with the monitor were most likely addressed, such as dead pixels or damaged screen. So currently the monitor is performing very well with no problems. Image quality is superb, and the OSD works as expected. The body of the monitor looks practically brand new, untouched. Only downside is it only came with a mini-DP to DP cord and power cable... Not sure if a brand new MG279Q comes with more than that, but the mini-DP works just fine. Exceeds Expectations
I was initially hestitant to purchase a refurbished monitor after all the horror stories I heard, but I took a chance for this monitor since it has a 1440p 144Hz FreeSync IPS panel and the price was around 50% off of the original. Shipping did take awhile, but I ordered it close to New Year's Day so perhaps that's to be expected. When it finally arrived, I could tell the box may have been opened once, but adequate tape had been added to keep it closed nicely. Inside the package, all components were sealed in their original packaging. All cables (HDMI, Power, Mini-DP to DP, and DP-DP) were included, in addition to the cable management clip for the back of the monitor stand. The monitor (including the stand and base) itself was not damaged at all, with no scratches or marks visible. The stand even had a plastic seal still attached. The monitor powers up perfectly with no dead pixels, ghosting, flicker, or excessive IPS glow. Its colors, brightness, saturation were amazing even before calibration. Images and games run smoothly at 1440p at 144Hz with no ghosting or artifacts. Viewing angles are great.

First 144hz monitor, No Regrets
Bought this monitor at a fair price. So glad i did, upgrading to 144hz is just amazing. I dont think I can go back to 60hz again. Images looks sharp and color reproduction is excellent. Would highly recommend this monitor.
