Generac IQ2000 portable generator
The IQ 2000 Generac has been very reliable. It is well build and runs quiet. The best features besides being quiet are the power meter and the "time to run" gage, under the current load. The time to run on the fuel in the tank allows the user to actually see if it will make it through the night with the load put on it. I now know what to expect when running various appliances without concern if it will run out of fuel during the night. This allows me to optimize its use. I wasn't sure about the switch to choose economy, standard, or turbo when I bought it, but this has also proven valuable. If I want to run just a standard box fan, the generator will not have hardly any load. With the switch in economy mode, the generator will conserve fuel it doesn't need to use for supplying such a small electrical load. The generator is 1 inch wider than the Honda. It maybe a little more awkward for some to carry. It is worth it for the extra sound padding. The IQ2000 generator only has the one duplex outlet where others have USB plugs and 12 volt connections. I have found that if I want to charge my phone or run such items then I don't want to do it stuck right next to the generator itself. Extension cords work best and the duplex alone works fine.The features of this generator have been very well thought out. When buying any generator keep in mind to check the continuous watt output. This provides 1600 continuous and 2000 surge. This is the same as the Honda. Generac is a company that specializes in generators. This was a factor in choosing it. The Honda has a proven record but does not have the features of the Generac. It is also more expensive. I am very satisfied that I went with the Generac.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It does not replace a Honda
The generator is advertised to be an alternative for the Honda eu2000. If you are wanting a basic generator that is extremely quiet to recharge batteries in an RV this will work fine. Great quiet Gen
This is a great generator. But you need to remember it's only a 2000 watt generator. If you're going to run an air conditioner you need two of these tied together with the parallel cable. I don't care what your buddy down the street says 1600 watts is not going to run and air conditioner. These are quiet reliable and this is my second one. Together they run my camper and air conditioner. They did have a problem from the manufacturer with cables not being fully seated behind the head plate so when people receive them the gauges don't light up or does not run right. All you need to do is remove the front screws and make sure those plugs are connected in the back.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Pretty good
I bought this to run my travel trailer AC unit and it does okay. I'm at 5,000ft so I lose 3.5% for every 1000ft above sea level. So I'm running 17% less power. Can't run microwave among won't AC. the other issue is the generator would get bogged down really weird and then the AC would cut out. So I would turn on the AC and sometimes it would turn back on. Sometimes not. Not sure if I have to wait a few minutes before I turn the AC back on it what. Starts right up and easy to carry. Don't forget to buy an RV cord adapter as the parallel unit connector doesn't work with the plug.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Tools Plus Outlet is where I got mine, they had the best price and shipped fast and packed it up great. I have a small Honda that I really like but this one is quieter, has great features and was easy to start. I do a little DIY stuff away from 110v and like having power for heating and cooking in a power out. I like Ryobi tools and considered the Ryobi generator until I realized the generator is from China and may not be easy to service. Great value, genius design, Quietest generator/inverter around
Received my generator in perfect condition from tools-plus-outlet, it was double boxed and the best price on the web. It was a bit difficult to get started the first time, but I am totally impressed with it's design features and near silent operation. I shopped for 6 months before I made my final decision on the IQ2000, mostly because of it's intuitive features, it is quite simple to start and operate, and it being an American built product made me feel confident I was buying a well built machine. My only complaint was there was nothing in the manual concerning the proper amount of oil to add to it (it comes with oil and a special fill funnel). Access to the spark plug and oil dipstick and air filter is directly behind the side cover that is also very easy to remove. I have yet to use it camping but, I plan on testing it around the house before then. I highly recommend it. AND it is noticeably quieter than my neighbors Honda.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice little but powerful generator
Love this generator! Bought it for my horse trailer. Small and light enough for me (50+lady) to move around and it's very quiet in eco mode and not real loud at full power. I was able to run a 1500watt heater and coffee pot, at the same time with no problem. Ran the heater all night on a tank of gas and still had plenty left for morning coffee. "Lightweight with great features"
Starts 1st pull every time. Love the dial start. As easy as 1 2 3. I love the digital gauges. I love the handle, which makes it easy to move around. And most of all it supper quiet. There's nothing about it that I don't love. I would Highly Recommend this Generac iQ2000 Watt Portable Generator, model 6866 to anyone looking for a small generator. I own 2 more larger Generac generators for backup for my home for the past 10 years and I have not had any problems with either one of them. what's good ~ 1. quiet as a mouse 2. powerful little sucker, ran a very large industrial hammer drill/chisel on first start up no problem. 3. started 3rd pull, first 2 pulls were very slow primer pulls... 4. came a day early (love when stuff is early) 5. seller offered best deal around, beat almost everyone else by 100 bucks!!! 6. light in weight, right around 50 pounds loaded with gas and oil. 7. small profile, can easily load and unload in my vehicle, without having to ask for help. 8. powers my tile wet saw without any issues (saw and pump combined) and it's a big one. what's bad ~ 1. everyone is going to want to borrow it. Great generator!
This review may be a little preemptive. I have not used the generator for any considerable length of time, but so far I am impressed. It's amazing how quiet it runs. The quality appears to be very good. I was a little hesitant about this brand, because I didn't know much about them. Then I started noticing a lot of businesses and government buildings use the large back up generators this company makes. Generac has been in the generator business awhile, so now I feel confident in the product.
