    Good product

Very pleased with this razor. Works well and is easy to use. Charge indicator is also a useful feature.

Close - but not close enough.

Deciding after years of not very satisfactory electric shaving to go for the best, I paid a great deal of money for this shaver, as recommended by Which? consumer magazine. It is easy to use and looks good - but it simply does not give the close shave promised.

  • A reasonable shave

A very good razor, better than any other electric shaver I've had, but not as close as a wet shave. I really don't understand why money has been wasted on a silly cleaning system, when a rinse under the warm tap is all that is necessary.

  • A sensitive subject .

I have always got on well with an electric razor as I have sensitive skin and a wet shave always leaves me with spots and red blotches . I have had my last razor a philishave wet and dry model for 18 years . It has served me well and battery is falling so I opted for an updated model . Well times have changed as not only do I get a shave that is equal to that of a wet shave but no rash or reaction . So I'm a happy bunny . Some may think these expensive but my last shaver didn't owe me a penny and lasted me well and I hope to get years of good service from this one .😋

  • The first electric shaver I've tried that I cannot fault in any way.

I have tried various Braun and Philips mid-price range shavers and all were disappointing in failing to remove stray neck hairs. The previous Philips 7000 series whilst giving a decent face shave, still failed on the neck, requiring an ordinary manual blade to remove the strays. I was sceptical that moving up from the 7000 to the significantly more expensive 9000 series would be noticeably better, but seeing as Which magazine rated the 9000 series to be the best you can buy....if you can afford it that is, I decided to splash out. Excellent choice as it turns out! The first electric shaver I have ever had that really does a comprehensive job comfortably and without leaving stray hairs behind that have to be removed manually. The charging/cleaning dock is also intuitive to use and far better and less of a hassle than I was expecting it to be. For that reason I've rated it good value despite the £200+ price. Expensive? - Yes. Any regrets? - No. The first electric shaver that I cannot fault in any way.

  • Very happy customer

Phillips product’s are very good, although this shaver was very expensive it is well worth the money . I think for the price Phillips should have included the 2pin plug I already had one but for anyone who bought this for a present it would be very disappointing as you are unable to use it without this item. But don’t be put of as well worth the money. I have very sensitive skin and have found no problems at all.

  • Expensive but worth it

It came out top in a recent Which? survey of electric shavers and for very good reason. It gives a fantastic close shave and is the best shaver i've used for a very long time.

  • Great shave - top class piece of kit

Fantastic piece of kit. Shaves really close and does not pull - even on long stubble and hairs. Extremely quiet and has a real quality feel. Pihillips retail price is £450, so £179 is a bit of a bargain. Smartclean system also works really well.

  • Best shaver ever

I used to have a rotary years ago but swapped for a top of the range foil one. I regretted it ever since so finally after a few years opted to return to rotary with this one. I can honestly say that I’m so happy to be back & so glad I chose this one. Shaving is effortless & it shaves so close. The shaver itself is so light & quiet. It looks fantastic & one hour charge will last me 2 months. The travel case is sturdy & the cleaning/charging unit is fantastic. Looks fantastic too with its digital readout. Glad I opted for the more expensive 9000 model as the blades cut twice as fast. I have a sensitive face but this leaves a smooth shave with no sensitivity issues at all. Not sure I’d pay £450 for any razor but got it on offer at less than half that which is well worth it.

  • Philips shaver 9000 series

Gives an excellent shave and good quality build, but not sure the extra cost for a digital battery percentage display is good value
