Absolutely Wonderful Guitar
What if you could get a first quality archtop guitar from the ‘30s or ‘40s and you could get it for a bargain in pristine condition? What if it had a quality p90 pickup with tone and volume pots? Well, in a lot of ways that’s what you’re getting with the Godin 5th Avenue Kingpin. Only better. There are things that make those guitars worth a few thousand dollars—the sound, the looks, the rarity of models left in great condition, the nostalgia... But the Godin has features you can’t find on any of them—the computer aided design of the placement and tapering of the braces, the perfectly shaped thin cherry top with matching cherry sides and back, the neck stretching the fretboard all the way to the neck pickup but the neck suspended over the body to allow more of the top to vibrate with the sound, and a few dozen other features. The Godin guitars are made in Canada in a shop that’s careful with quality control and made by true artist luthiers. This beauty plays wonderfully and is a perfect fit for many kinds of music; blues, roots, country, jazz... I can’t imagine this guitar being any better.
