Keyboard is a good value for the price. Battery does work well for the entire day with office usage like excel and word. With a fair amount of use for entertainment, videos saved to drive and YouTube it works well for the average business day. The one problem I have is that the function keys are stuck to where I have to hit the function button in order to use the regular key, i.e. page up, page down etc. That drives me a bit nuts since I use them quite a bit.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fine for a keyboard/touchpad only
These Power Covers are brand new in box, but old stock. Due to sitting in their boxes since roughly late-2013, the 4 internal Lithium Ion battery's have slowly discharged below their cut off voltage, so are unable to be recharged, and means that the Power Cover is useless except for a sturdy keyboard/touchpad without the backlight. These suiposably can be repaired if you don't mind doing some surgery on your Power Cover, you can look up "how to bring a Surface Power Cover back from the dead" for directions on how to do it. I personally did not have success with bringing the Power cover back to life, but i'm not sure exactly why, as the Lithium cells came back to life once I brought the manually back up to a stable voltage. It just say's its charging but the percentage never changes. Your might have more success with yours.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Not as described
New looking but will not charge or take one it's a ongoing problem with the power cover it's only worth $20 as is the type cover 2 now just twice as heavy with out a light up keyboard contacted the company to try to work something out because I need a keyboard is no good they know these keyboards aren't 100% working as described in don't have time to wait for a replacement or try for another this is my second try I'm not dumb enough for a thirdVerified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great for the extra power.

A most useful accessory
If you use your Microsoft Surface away from mains power, this keyboard plus battery is highly recommended. It does not work with Surface 2 (RT)

Power Corver does not work
the power cover does not work properly. I haven't identified whether it's a problem with the product or the surface itself. I've already updated the firmware and it didn't solve the problem. Did not Charge
