Great optic, well worth the price

Pros .... wonderful battery life. I've found on average that the batteries run about 4 bucks a piece, but you get 3 years of battery life and that is with the Dot CONSTANTLY on. I will change mine out every year though, as recommended by others I know who own one of these, as a "just to be sure" type of thing. But I use my optic professionally. But even with changing the battery once a year though, that's 4 dollars per year for a constant on red dot. Great quality. Feels very well built and solid. No sloppy machining marks or rough edges/ burs. The knob on the mount is very easy to tighten down snug by hand and mounts the Optic solid to the rifle. There is no slop or wiggle once it's tightened down. The added flip up lens covers are a nice plus. This thing looks good as well.

  • Most critical review

The optic looks/feels amazing, however the red dot is the issue. it's not really a red dot , more like a red arrow >

After trying this product i notice that the red dot is not a red dot. it looks more like a bird beak, it gets really annoying to try and look at your target through the "red beak" the point when dimmed is too dim to view even at night. you have to click around 6x to get a best view, at 7 the beak appears bright and annoys , so i personally am unsatisfied, please do not call it a red dot because it's not. Please share your experience with this product as well!

  • Compact with a 3 year battery

This sight is rugged and will get the job done. I have purchased less expensive sights and have had mixed results. For around $400.00 there are very few sights of this quality. I do have Eotech, and Trijicon sights. The Trijicon is twice the price and the Eotech while a tad cheaper has considerably less battery life. The large knob on the side prevents over torquing so you will never damage the mount, as a bonus it can be operated with gloves on. The sight is at the perfect height so you can deploy your back up sights (I use a Matech rear sight which is standard military issue and a YHM gas block flip up front sight) and can sight right thru the Aimpoint. Convenient for a failure mode or for longer ranges. Do yourself a favor and just get the sight, you will be happy.

  • Excellent Product

This optic looks and feels like the top quality that is. It is rugged, accurate, and extremely well-made. The only negative thing I could say about it is, it's a little pricey. Sure, quality costs money, but $425 just seems a bit high for this device. I would have expected to pay about $100 less for it, but since I cannot find a brand new one for less than the price I paid for it, then that's the price I was forced to pay if I really wanted one (and I did really want one!). Aimpoint makes exceptional quality optics, and I would not want to put anything of less quality on my M4 carbine. I highly recommend this to anyone who can afford it, and who wants only the finest quality optic on their rifle or carbine!

  • Excellent quality and value.

This is my second Aimpoint PRO. My first is twelve years old and still works perfectly. I have no doubt this one will give equal service. While not quite as clear or as lightweight as my Aimpoint T2, the PRO cost only half as much, and includes a mount. While I keep both eyes open when using either optic, I actually prefer the larger diameter lens of the PRO over the smaller T2. It just seems to make for a less cluttered sight picture. None of my optics are babied; they have all taken numerous bumps and impacts and are still as sound as when they were new. I realize there are other brands that cost less than Aimpoint, but I have always been willing to pay for known quality, and Aimpoint has been proven to me many times over.

  • Aimpoint Pro Patrol

What a great scope for the money. Mounted it on my flat top AR. I'm using magpul Mbus flip up iron sights which cowitness perfect. You can leave this scope powered on and the battery life is supposed to be 3 years on the medium power setting. Scope looks and feels solid and very durable. The built in ratchet on the mount is awesome, just remember your mounting location on your rail and the scope stays zeroed if you need to take it off and on. I highly recommend this red dot.

  • Aimpoint PRO

While I have not shot my Ar-15 with this optic yet I have no doubt about it's accuracy and ruggedness. The red dot has enough brightness settings to cover any situation. It looks great mounted on my gun and I am very pleased to say the least. ps The battery life is also fantastic turn it on and forget it for up to 3 years...what more can I say.

  • Good enough for LE

I prefer Trijicon red dot optic, but this was for a build that had to be trained with on county standard equipment. Which they paid 500 a piece for. So this is a very good deal on a great optic. I'm just a brand ho with Trijicon aiming solutions.

  • Can't Beat the Aimpoint Pro 2 for Simplicity and Reliability

It doesn't get much simpler than the Aimpoint Pro 2. This is a superb, high quality optic, ideally suited for law enforcement use. I especially like the long battery life (3 years!). I leave it on 24/7 so I don't have to waste time powering up while deploying my patrol rifle. I've been using an EoTech for years and still love that optic, but the Aimpoint Pro 2 is my new favorite.

  • Almost missed out on a fantastic red dot

Finally made the jump to quality optics a few months ago with an MRO. Was ready to upgrade another and decided to give Aimpoint a try. Landed on the PRO and almost returned it after only unpacking it. I had already gotten used to the minimal sight obstruction with the MRO and unfairly expected the same from the PRO. Fortunately, I did some additional research on the differences between the two, especially in regards to parallax and realized that the PRO would probably be a better fit on this particular set up (mid range platform). So I mounted it and took it to the range. Was able to easily zero and found the front sight cover being flipped up wasn’t nearly as intrusive as I originally though with both eyes open. This is a fantastic optic and while I’ll never need the indestructibility, it’s nice to know it’s there. Am now a believer in Aimpoint as well as Trijicon. Both are fantastic optics with a lot of crossover. For me, I landed on the MRO for the shorter distances and the PRO for mid ranges. Both will do either, but have their respective strengths.
