    Wifi big boost

I was having a lot of issues with WiFi coverage and speed from the Virgin hub 3.0. That unit is just poor. Set the Virgin hub 3.0 to router mode and use the Nighthawk for the WiFi hub with some Ethernet connections onto the Nighthawk and wow what a different experience. Xbox on WiFi no problem. AppleTV on WiFi, no streaming issues. Recommend this Nighthawk.

    Fit for a boss

Great router, it smelt really hot, it lasted a month before it stopped functioning, I phoned my isp due to the internet being down assuming it was there fault as I had a new router, I changed the firmware to some opensource one, had loads of function not usually available, it could work out rather expensive at one a month, so if you have a boss you really don't like, but want to seem helpful, recommend this router, he or she may love you or hate you, depending on luck, but the fact they've made it to boss, it could last a lifetime, not like me, I'm a school caretaker lol.

  • Great router

I wasn't quite sure whether to replace a BT smart hub 6 but glad I did. Range and speed are better. Also switched DNS away from BT which definitely makes web pages appear double quick. Buy one if you can get it sub £100. Bargain.

  • Excellent range router but a fiddle to set up

Good modem router with excellent range, beating the top end TP-Link it replaces. Set up was true to most Netgear kit ie not as straight forward as their system aims to be. TP-Link has to be the best there, an absolute doddle. So the Netgear is finally up and running and providing a steady connection with wide covererage, the only reason I'd swap to the Netgear for.

  • Can't be used as a modem/router/AP with OpenWRT, only as a router/AP

Bought this hoping to use OpenWRT on it, but then discovered that the modem chipset can't be controlled by OpenWRT, so its becomes just a router with no modem. Apparently both the D7800 and the (non-modem) R7800 make great routers and have great WiFi with OpenWRT, but the lack of the modem with OpenWRT was a deal breaker for me.

  • Netgear D7800 ADSL Router Is The King!

Repeated failures with two archer 2600 and three archer 2800 ADSL tp-link routers sent me looking elsewhere. Now I have Netflix & Amazon via Sky and also 2.4g plus 5g WiFi throughout the house where I couldn't get this combination before with Tp-link. 5 Stars Netgear!

  • Simple and effective router.

Does the job simply with no issues , this is my 2nd nighthawk D range previously had the D7000, this D7800 is a step up in performance and range And only upgraded due to greater demand. Both routers are solid performers.
