Good Update for Old Radio
The time had come to replace my old faithful Sony radio. A colleague already has this model of Goodman's radio, so I knew what to expect. The radio is an ideal size for use in the office and takes up very little room. This radio is sold as a Grade A Refurbishment, and is well worth the money, with no signs of previous use, other than needing to be retuned. Good sound, but not very loud and it eats batteries
This radio is easy to use and the sound is good. It is not very loud and the volume is close to the max for normal use. However, the big problem is that it goes through batteries very quickly. It takes four AA batteries and I found that these only lasted just over a week with only light use. My old Sony takes two AA batteries which last for months under the same usage conditions. The Goodmans is really only suitable for use with a mains supply which means that it is not really portable so I have gone back to the old Sony.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Expanded use
I needed a DAB tuner to update my analogue hifi but eventually chose to experiment with the Goodman Slate feeding into the excellent Logitech computer speakers (complete with sub-woofers) and it really paid off. Reception and output signal through the headphone jack is marvelous and I now have a stereo radio system which as better sound quality then even my much loved Roberts WM201 (which I thought was unbeatable). Radio 3 never sounded so good. The added bonus is that I have a small portable radio that I can take into the garden to listen to the cricket.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Compact and easy to use

Super little radio & incredibly fast delivery!
Delighted with this radio! I live in a rural hilly area & FM reception can be rubbish. My old radios are basically scrap and won't function in the hills. This is clear, clean sound. I don't even need the aerial. The price is great value too. It's probably not the best for use in dirty or wet environments because it is just plastic, but the kind of robust portable radio builders use is too expensive for me. The Best radio
I've not started using this radio yet but I know from using one earlier which I passed on to a disabled brother (it's easy to use and usefully small, stable and overall good quality) that it is an excellent little radio, clearer, great sound and volume, than any portable I've tried before.
