The Elite, Pioneer Elite Speakers
I spent a great deal of time reading reviews and listening to speakers from several other brands before deciding to take a chance on these. I could not find these speakers anywhere to sample, so I took a bit of a chance trusting reviews and word of mouth only when I made my purchase. When they arrived, and they arrived quickly, I was immediatly impressed with the build quality. Many had expressed their displeasure with the black vinyl paint, but I think they look great. They have the look and feel of a quality product, and after all, I prefer that my investment be in the quality of the speakers rather than the eye candy of the box they are in. I hooked them up to my AV Reciever [Yamaha RX-A780] at started streaming some favorite songs to the speakers, running them through their paces. Wow they sound great! Other speakers that I listened to at the store, [Polk and Klipsch] did not do it for me. These, by contrast, sounded great instantly. I have opted to add the subwoofer later, and even without the sub, these sound really good, producing very good bass and clear articulated instrumentation and voice. They just sound great. Happy with how music sounded, I went to a movie. I tested Mad Max Fury Road first and wow, expectional. I realized that the sound produced from movies is superior to the already great music I had listened to. I had a grin from ear to ear as the movie went on, very impressive sound. I also tested the movie Interstellar and streamed the new Mandelorian serise on Disney + with Atmos and the speakers did not dissapoint in any way. I could not be happier. If you are on the fence on these, do not wait any longer. These are some of the best speakers I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. Great speakers
I only tested the Pioneer speakers on my 8 ohm Yamaha 7.1 receiver briefly because the Pioneers need a 4 ohm amp to drive them. It was at a low volume to reduce strain on the Yamaha. They sounded very detailed and very similar in quality to my $1,000 Goldenear Aon 3 bookshelves, which are highly reviewed. They will fit in with Denon AVR x4400h 9.2 Atmos receiver i hope that I will be buying soon. These are a great choice for Atmos elevation speakers and I got a fantastic price on them in used condition on ebay. Definitely check them out and read the reviews on them.
