Poor man's monitoring headphone
Has trusty tonal balance because It reproduces midbass and highs in good proportion to the broad midband. Its lightweight, roomy, easy to wear for long. Has strong enough analysis and imaging. There are some cons like it could have been easier to drive or the bass could have been stronger. Still not a treble oriented sound. Not as refined as some very expensive models but very good in many important areas. Monitor grade headphones are not many and certainly don't come cheap, that is why I think its an excellent pick for its average online pricing. Not an automatic recommendation for all uses and tastes though. Due to being the neutral sounding type its not instant fun with all music genres and it won't go easily loud on most portable devices.

Not quite as good as the K712's
Same as the K712 by construction and design but found the treble raised some slight fizzy interference. Getting on a bit so my treble hearing failing first. May have been a one off, could even have been caused by bad use by the previous owner.

AKG K612 Pro Monitoring Headphones
Its not until you purchase a good quality set of headphones that you realise just what you have been missing in terms of sound seperation and clarity. I thought that I were using a pair of good quality headphones, prior to buying the AKG K16 Pros. Initially I was looking at a cheaper pair of AKG Headphones but I am pleased that I spent the extra money on these. My old headphones are good for some things, but I am using the AKGs in a sound studio environment where the digital capabiliies from my studio equipment pushes out a wide range of sounds in KHz. My old headphones would sound distorted in no time and I were having mixing issues, these are so much better and worth every penny or pound that I have spent on them. If you are looking for clarity and quality, these are highly recommended.

AKG THE (BEST) HEADPHONES I'VE HAD YET
I've been into hi fi sence 1976 so I think it it should qualify me in the knowledge bracket, l do know a lot about speakers, amps, turntables, tape Decks, tuners, phono cables, speaker cables, matching components and so on if you don't mind me saying, anyway about headphones believe me I've had cheap and expensive headphones, and these akg k612 Pro are with out a dawt are the best sounding headlines I have ever owned, when I heard these I was blown away, if you buy a pair of these you'll know what I mean, they are (superb), F BAILEY
