Canton DM50 Soundbase
Bought for the right price even though a bit of a trek to Luton but worth it. With say Freeview bass and treble can be turned up to whichever you might prefer whether using surround sound or standard stereo options. With a dvd it can boom so just turn the levels down and adjust accordingly. The speaker is also good enough fir streaming music. Not quite as refined as a set of hifi speaker for example Dali Zensor 1 but say with surround sound and a little extra bass the Canton is still good at £100.

Canton soundbox
Nicely designed (except it's about 1" too wide for the gap under the TV so the TV has had to have mods done to accommodate the Canton underneath in atop the unit ) and the sound is enhanced. Had to disable the TV speakers but the remote is trainable via the extensive menu on the Canton guide so I can vary volume on the TV remote now. Recommended.
