  • Robust and unfussy

I bought a reconditioned model of this machine, and have had it for about two months. With a bit of practice getting the right quantity/tamping pressure in the right coffee-holder insert (there are 4), I am producing perfect, hipster coffee-shop standard coffees. It's not as easy to use as a Nespresso, obviously, but much more versatile and the grinds are recycled into my allotment with no hassle. The steam wand is very easy to use, and quite powerful. The machine is also very easy to clean on the outside and inside. Sometimes the water from the drip tray does splash out, even if it's not full, so you do have to keep an eye on that and have dishcloth to hand. I have found that the best results are with Lavazza 'qualita rossa' beans. That company seems to have figured out the perfect blend and roast consistency. A lot of the single-origin roast beans you can buy from various brands don't seem to produce the same results. I have a Krupps burr grinder and I use the finest setting on that. I don't think one needs to spend another small fortune on the Sage grinder, but I do see the appeal in a machine that regulates the grind and quantity so precisely. All in all, I am extremely pleased with this machine, which looks great, feels robust and heavy, puffs and snorts steam like Smaug having a good dream on his pile of treasure, and which produces brilliant brews.

  • Excellent so far - Had it about a month

Courier Delivered right on time. I got this to replace my VERY well used Delonghi EC220. All the different beans I have tried are so much nicer when ground and put through this SAGE. I've loved the taste of every cappuccino so far. I guess it must be the temperature being set better or something. The Machine is Nice and Sturdy and doesn't easily slide all over the counter when you lock the Portafilter in place. The Portafilter is also nice and Heavy and solid. MILK FROTHS PERFECTLY even if it seems like there isn't lots of pressure sometimes and the Pump makes a bomping sound (not TOO loud). I usually fill the tank in place because my old Delonghi machine leaked when I took the tank off, but when I have taken the tank off of the Sage it shows absolutely no signs of leaking at all. Sometimes the Tray that holds the other Filters (which is located behind the drip tray) gets water in it. Not sure why that is ? (little bit concerned). Also the drip tray hooks onto that tray at the back to drag it out when you want to use other filters, but doesn't always hook on so I have to reach right back underneath to get it out. Apart from that, I think God has truly Blessed me with this machine. So Nice to get beautiful Coffee every time from a Stable Machine :)

  • Fantastic robust machine which makes great coffee

We are so pleased with our Sage coffee machine. It makes fantastic coffee which was a priority but it is also a really solid, quality and well made machine. It is extremely easy to clean and it looks great in our kitchen. We love it!We we’re a bit nervous buying a reconditioned machine and we took a risk but it was a great decision

  • Be your own barista

It's taken me a few months of ownership but I think I've got the hang of this thing now. Initially I wanted to send it back because I couldn't get the coffee to come out strong enough. You've got to find the right espresso grind and fill the right amount and tamp the right pressure. I've not tried grinding my own yet. The milk wand takes learning too but makes great froth when you get it right

  • WorkHorse

Read reviews online - coffee blog - and has not disappointed. Relatively quiet, consistently great coffee. Frother ok, just need to get the hang of it. After six months use (second hand) not had a problem with it. Super easy to clean too - a handy manual online. Would very much buy again

  • Sage espresso duo temp machine

The whole idea was to cut down on the amount of money spent at well known coffee retailers...mm..well, maybe it has worked. This well made, brilliantly simple device actually brews shop standard drinks easily. When used with a good quality grinder it has the capacity to tweak espresso shots according to your taste and have a little fun in the process. Go on utube and become an espresso bore! You didn't realise how important this would become...The steam wand is fabulous, creating thick foam every time. Now I have to practice making cute patterns on top of my cappuccino....for some reason I seem to be drinking a lot more coffee than before...whoops.

  • Perfect for my daily Latte/Mocha

Great price and makes perrrrrrrrrrfect expresso for latte/mocha. Same as from cafe. I used coffee powder from #coffee1 and its smooth n creamy no sour. Foaming function is a dream for fullfat milk. Hot water is just right temperature for choc powder. Looking great too in kitchen. Thank you.

  • Amazed!

The machine comes with a multitude of accesories that make your brew so much more simple. I have this machine and the Sage Smart Grinder Pro and they make a perfect combination. I'm honestly amazed by the amount of time and effort Sage have put in to make this product user friendly. It comes with very helpful guides as to how to make the perfect espresso. The first brew I made with this machine was the best I have ever made. The price point for this and the grinder are so low compared to the rest of the market. The quality is superb, it makes better coffee than the £6000 machines they have in fancy cafés. Milk frothing is simple and they even provide a jug and guide you through the process in the instructions. Before getting this machine I didn't even know that cold milk froths more easily! Five stars all around. Please dont waste your money on expensive kit. You get everything you need to make good coffee in this package and on an ebay deal you can get it for £200. Invest in the Smart Grinder Pro from John Lewis (£149 + 2 years warranty) if you want that freshly ground taste.

  • Oh my!! What a great coffee!!

I did a lot of research before deciding on this. I must say how impressed I am with it. It either equals that of a coffee shop coffee and in a lot of cases much better! It's easy to use and clean. Just need to practice milk frothing for latte as it is an art. Fabulous!! Thank you :)

  • Top quality Sage coffee machine

This is a well made machine. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the more expensive Sage machines contain (I have a separate, really first class Sage coffee grinder) but there is less to go wrong and it makes good coffee. It extracts good crema from the beans and the steam wand works really well. This is my second Duo Temp coffee maker. The last one was a reconditioned machine and it lasted 5 years. My only real grouse is that the new design filter cartridges that claim to make decalcification unnecessary are horrendously expensive and these have to be replaced every 3 months. I'm not sure I would trust in them and will regularly decalcify to make sure that the heating element and pump stay in good nick.
