After proper charge, works out of the box, rechargeable NiMH AAA batteries included,lightweight,good audio
For the price paid, excellent product, lightweight, comes with batteries. You have to give batteries a good charge first (manual says 12 hours but mine worked after a couple of hours). Answering machine is ON by default but can be turned off via menu. Voice tembre and fidelity is pretty good, not annoying - hey, this is not a HiFi home cinema! LCD screen is basic, characters are 7-segment 1980s style - hey, this is not a smartphone! The screen on my previous DECT phone started to lose char segments after ~2 years, have yet to see how long this one will last.
